The PPSC examination, also known as the Punjab Public Service Commission examination is one which is conducted to recruit deserving, eligible as well as qualified candidates for State services, in addition to the other administrative services of the Punjab Government. Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has invites the online application form for 544 vacancies of Principal, Head Master/ Head Mistresses, Block Primary Education Officer vacancies in the Department of School Education, Govt. of Punjab.

Examination Pattern:

The PPSC examination consists of two papers paper I is 100 marks & paper II is 200 marks , both of which consist of objective type questions, or multiple-choice questions. The Prelims, as it is commonly called, serves as a screening test for candidates. Those who pass written test are qualified for the interview round.There will be a written test of 300 marks (120 questions of 2.5 marks each) and an interview of 40 marks

The examination is conducted in three different stages, namely: 

  1. The PPSC  Examination
  2. Interview

There will be no negative marking in the written test.

Note: No candidate shall be eligible to be shortlisted for interview unless he/she obtains 45% marks in the competitive examination (40% for the candidates belonging to Schedules Caste of Punjab and Backward Classes of Punjab)

The PPSC Interview is conducted only for those candidates who have qualified the written Mains examination. Additionally, these candidates should fulfil the eligibility criteria as well. The Interview contains a maximum of 40 marks. Therefore, the marks obtained by a candidate in the written as well as the Interview together will be the final marks considered for the merit list of the PPSC examination.

Preparation Tips:

The candidates applying for the exam are required to do hard work and strategies their preparation techniques to qualify for the difficult screening process.Before you start preparing for the examination, here are some tips may be helpful to you for preparing PPSC Entrance exam.

1. Know the exam pattern and syllabus in detail
Before starting your preparations, make sure to go through the complete syllabus and note down the important topics that need your attention.The exam pattern of PPSC consists of various subjects namely Logical Reasoning & Mental Ability,Current Affairs & General Knowledge including History, General Science, Geography, Polity, Economy, Child Rights and the related regulation, Education Policy of Union & State Govt., Sanitation & Health and English and Punjabi etc.

2.Time-Management:
Know your weaker section and focus more in that section. Set the time limit for any topic which you study. Give time to other subjects as well. Manage your time according to the time taking and less time consuming questions to balance the time in the mains exam.

3.Work on your weaker areas
Many aspirants tend to leave their weaker topics with the fear of never getting it right. Candidates must solve quizzes daily from the weaker topics. Your weaker areas must be focused and need more attention

4.Practice Mock-Tests/ Daily Quizzes:
Mock test will help you in a various way. It helps you developing the right strategy. Solve some mock test and revise the previous year questions as it can help in maintaining accuracy and speed.

5.Discipline is the key to success.

Prepare your time table and strictly adhere to it. While preparing the time table, keep in mind that it should not be exhaustive or burdensome for you.After you have completed your syllabus, revision is what matters the most. Running after new topics to study may tend to be confusing at this point, due to which, you can lose on topics you have prepared so far. So, it is advisable to focus on topics you’ve prepared till now and revise them.
