Solutions

S1. Ans.(c)
Sol. A : B = 7 : 8
B : C = 4 : 9 = 8 : 18
∴ A : B : C = 7 : 8 : 18
Sum of ratios = 7 + 8 + 18 = 33
Now, C’s share = 18/8×7104
= Rs. 15984

S2. Ans.(c)
Sol. 27N4 is divisible by 11
Sum of odd places number – sum of even places number = 0
∴ (4 + 7) – (N + 2) = 0
⇒ 11 – N – 2= 0
⇒ N = 9

S3. Ans.(b)
Sol. 8400×75/100×x/100=5040
⇒x=(5040×100)/(75×8400)×100
⇒x=80
∴ 20% discount

S4. Ans.(a)
Sol. ATQ,
P : Q : R = 2 : 3 : 5
∴ P = 2x, Q = 3x, R = 5x
Hence,
(P + Q) : (Q + R) : (R + P)
= (2x + 3x) : (3x + 5x) : (5x + 2x) = 5 : 8 : 7

S5. Ans.(b)
Sol. Let age of other student who left the group be x
∴ 21 × 20 + 20 – 26 – x
= 20 × 19
⇒ x = 34 years

S6. Ans.(c)
Sol. Numbers divisible by both 5 & 7 must be divisible by LCM of 5 and 7 ie 35.
∴ B/w 300 & 650, numbers divisible by 35 starts from 315 and ends at 630.
∴ total 10 numbers

S7. Ans.(a)
Sol. We know, the wages are divided in the ratio of the work efficiency
Now,
(63 + 45 + 35) units → 2860
∴ 63 units → 2860/143×63
= 1260
∴ Raman’s share = Rs 1260

S8. Ans.(a)
Sol. Radius of sphere, r = 7cm
∴ surface area = 4πr²
=4×22/7×7×7
= 616 cm²

S9. Ans.(c)
Sol. Let the marked price be Re x
∴ x × 0.8 × 0.65 = 50700
⇒ x=50700/(0.8×0.65)=97500

S10. Ans.(b)
Sol. ATQ,
A : B : C = 3 : 5 : 8
16 units → 3200
3 units→3200/16×3=600
∴ Required difference = Rs 600
