Solutions

S1. Ans.(b)
Sol.
Discount % =(600-450)/600×100
= 25%

S2. Ans.(d)
Sol.
391 = 1 × 17 × 23
∴ 391 is not a prime number

S3. Ans.(b)
Sol.
Let the total work be 64 unit, so the carpenter build 1 unit
of cupboard in 1 hour.
So, Work done in 16 hours = 16 units
Work remaining = 64 – 16 = 48 units
Remaining work fraction =48/64=3/4
= 0.75

Sol
Increase in fare =725/29×(31-29)
= Rs 50 S6. Ans.(c)
Sol.
Volume = 385 cm³
22/7×r^2×10=385
r = 3.5 cm

S7. Ans.(b)
Sol.
sec 5π/4=sec⁡〖 (π+π/4)〗
= -sec⁡〖π/4〗
= -√2 S9. Ans.(d)
Sol.
Original bill = 1788/((100 – 25))×100 = Rs. 2384

S10. Ans.(b)
Sol.
From, 5x – 1 < 3x + 2 ⇒ x < 1.5
From, 5x + 5 > 6 – 2x ⇒ x > 0.142
From all given option, only x = 1 satisfies both conditions.
