Sol.
x + x+5 + x+10 + x+15 + x+20 = 100
5x + 50 = 100
5x = 50
x = 10
age of youngest boy = 10 years

Sol.
Let the present age of daughter = x
Then, (30 – x) = x
2x = 30
x = 15.
Daughter’s age 10 years back (15-10) = 5 years.

S3. Ans.(a)
Sol.
Let the age of z = x
Then, y’s age = 2x
x’s age = (2x + 4)
(2x + 4) + 2x + x = 34
5x + 4 = 34
5x = 30
x = 6
z’s age = 6 years

Sol.
Let the daughter’s age be x years,
Then, woman’s present age = x + 36
(x + 36) + 4 = 2(x + 4)
x + 40 = 2x + 8
x = 32
so, present age of daughter =32 years

Let the present ages of Amit and Sumit be 7x and 6x respectively. Then,
7x + 5 = 40
7x = 35
x = 5
Sumit’s age= 6 × 5 = 30 years

= 154 years
Average age of 10 players = 12 years
Total age of 10 players = 12 × 10 = 120 years
Age of coach = 154 -120=34 years

(Rohit + Shivani) – (Shivani + Kamal) = 24
Rohit + Shivani – Shivani – Kamal = 24
Rohit – Kamal = 24 years
So, Kamal is 24 years younger than Rohit
