JEE-Mains, JEE-Advanced, NEET exam dates : Every year lakhs of students appear for the competitive entrance exams in the country to gain admission into the leading educational institutions in India. Out of all these exams, two of the most popular ones are the JEE and NEET. JEE Mains and JEE Advanced are conducted for selecting students for admission into the engineering colleges across the country and NEET are conducted for admission into the medical colleges across India. This year, more than 9 lakh students have registered for JEE Mains 2020, and over 15 lakh students have registered for NEET 2020. But due to the coronavirus pandemic and the following nationwide lockdown, both these coveted exams were postponed indefinitely in the month of March, leaving the students staring at uncertainty.

At that time HRD ministry issued a statement that “Certain Competitive exams like JEE require examinees to travel to other centres and in some cases to other cities, to appear in the said examination. Also, the dates may clash with the rescheduled CBSE and other board exams. Therefore, JEE Mains should be rescheduled, and a new date will be announced on March 31, after re-assessment of the situation.” But as the lockdown kept getting extended, no dates could be finalised for these exams. But now finally, dates for JEE Mains 2020, JEE Advanced 2020, and NEET 2020 have been announced.

JEE Mains 2020 and JEE Advanced 2020: Dates announced by the HRD Minister

During a webinar with the students, the HRD Minister, Mr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank stated that the dates for JEE Mains 2020 and JEE Advanced 2020 had been finalised. The minister informed the students that the JEE Mains 2020 would be conducted between July 18 to July 23, 2020, across the country. The exact date for JEE Advanced 2020 was not announced by the minister, but he did inform the students that JEE Advanced 2020 will be held in the month of August. Students can expect the announcement for the dates for JEE Advanced 2020 in some time.

NEET 2020: Dates announced during the webinar

During the webinar held by the HRD Minister, he informed that NEET 2020 would be conducted on July 26, 2020, across India. Both JEE Mains 2020 and NEET 2020 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Usually, the admit cards for the exams are released a few weeks in advance. But due to the short notice at which the exams are being conducted, students can expect their admit cards to be available a few days before the actual exam. The details like examination venue, timing, and other guidelines will be specified in the admit card itself.

Now, that the dates for JEE Mains 2020 and NEET 2020 have been announced by the HRD Ministry, students must start preparing for the exams right away using the available online and offline resources.
