Is there any negative marking in REET?
Yes, according to the REET New Exam Pattern, the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan has introduced a negative marking scheme in the examination. Now, ⅓ marks will be deducted from the total marks obtained by the candidates for each of their wrong answers. Earlier, the candidates didn’t have to feel concerned about the negative marks. Due to this, many candidates would attempt guesswork while answering some questions.
However, now they would not be able to do the same as it will cost them their precious marks. Always remember, when a candidate marks a wrong answer in case of a negative marking scheme, they lose the marks they could have earned if they answered it right. Moreover, they lose added marks for answering it wrong. Thus, in the case of the REET Exam 2022, the candidates marking a wrong would mean they lose 2 marks (they could earn for a correct answer) along with ⅓ marks (negative marking). Hence, it is highly recommended to the candidates to not attempt any questions unless they are absolutely sure about it or else they will lose their hard-earned marks unnecessarily.
