Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CGPEB) has released notification for the Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test (CGTET) 2020 (Primary & Upper Primary level). This exam is for candidates who to get teaching jobs in Chhattisgarh. The Eligibility criteria, exam pattern, fee details are given below:
Application Fee
- For General: Rs. 350/- (Rs. 600/- for Two Exam Papers)
- For OBC: Rs. 250/- (Rs. 400/- for Two Exam Papers)
- For SC/ ST/ PH: Rs. 200/- (Rs. 300/- for Two Exam Papers)

- Starting Date for Apply Online: 14 Feb 2020
- Last Date to Apply Online & Fee Payment: 1 Mar 2020 till 11:59 pm
- Download Admit Card: 13 Mar 2020
- Date of Exam: 22 Mar 2020
Exam Pattern
- All questions in CGTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.
- Each carrying one mark
- There will be no negative marking.
There will be two papers of CGTET.
- Paper I will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes I to V.
- Paper II will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
Educational Qualification
1. Minimum Educational Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Level):
Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks or 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
2. Minimum Educational Qualification for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Level):
Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) in Pedagogy/ 2-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/ B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
Timetable for CGTET 2020
ThisExam date i.e. 22 March 2020 which will be held in two shifts. The timings of both the shifts are given below :

The Validity Period the examqualifying certificate for appointment will be 7 years for all categories. There is no restriction on the number of attempts, a person can take for acquiring aCertificate. A person who has Qualified CGTET may also appear again for improving his/her score.
Cut- Off / Qualifying Marks and Award of CGTET Certificate
The candidates appearing in CGTET will be issued Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% (General) and above marks will be issued marks statement and Eligibility Certificate.
