BPSC Recruitment 2021: In Bihar, the state government has going to start the Bumper Teacher recruitment process. Through this recruitment process, Bihar will appoint 40,500 headteachers in primary schools and 5,300 headmasters in higher secondary schools. The Bihar Cabinet on 17th August 2021 accepted the proposal regarding the creation of a separate section of Head Teachers in Primary Schools & Head Masters in the Higher Secondary Schools of Bihar.
Education Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary has announced that till now the Govt school teachers were appointed through Panchayati Raj Institutions and were later promoted as School Heads who are now promoted by BPSC in a proper manner via competitive exams. The interesting thing is that for the first time headteachers will be appointed in primary schools.
Two separate proposals of the Appointment and Service Conditions Rules-2021 of the Head Teachers and Headmasters of the Education Department were approved in the meeting of the State Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Only teachers will be eligible to apply for the new cadre posts of headteachers and headmasters. The eligibility for the post of headteacher in primary schools has been a minimum of 8 years of teaching in a government school.

Bihar govt. to recruit a total of 40,500 Head Teachers in primary schools through Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Exam. In order to implement this, the recruitment guidelines for the appointment of headmasters will be approved soon. The headteachers’ post of primary schools will be of district cadre while the headmaster’s post of higher secondary schools will be of divisional cadre. If any employed teacher is selected on any of the two posts, then along with the selection, they will be out of the planning commission.
