Agneepath Govt Scheme: The Agneepath Govt Scheme was unveiled by the Defense of Minister Rajnath Singh on 14th June 2022 to recruit personnel below the officer rank. Under the Agnipath path, 46000 soldiers will be recruited in 2022. The soldiers recruited under the Agneepath Govt Scheme will be called Agniveers. Male and female candidates from 17.5 to 23 years of age can apply for the various defense posts.

Agneepath Govt Scheme: Latest Update

In a recent development, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has confirmed on a tweet that 10% of vacancies will be reserved in the Assam Rifles and CAPFs for the Agniveers who have completed their 4-year tenure. The Agniveers will get a relaxation of 3 years added to the prescribed upper age limit for the recruitment of Assam Riffles and CAPFs. Moreover, there will be a total of 5 years of age relaxation for the first batch of the Agniveers.  This will be a great career opportunity for the Agniveers after their successful completion of 4-year tenure in the defence.

What is Agneepath Govt Scheme?

The Agneepath Govt Scheme offers contractual services for the eligible candidates and the tenure of the service including the training period of the candidates recruited will be 4 years. The purpose of the Agneepath Govt Scheme is to recruit and deploy younger and fitter troops on the front line for a short contractual period of not more than 4 years.

After the completion of the 4 years, 25% of the candidates will be retained and will be selected for the regular army based on their merit, willingness and fitness. Once selected for the regular army, the candidates will serve for a full term of 15 years of regular service. The rest of the 75% Agniveers will be disbanded and they can go back to civilian lives.

10+2/Intermediate exam passed in any stream(Arts, Commerce, Science)with 50% marks in aggregate and min 40% in each subject. Weight age for higher qualification.

Agniveer Nursing Assistant

10+2/Intermediate exam passed in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with min 50% mark sin aggregate and min40% in each subject. Now eight age for higher qualification.

  • Class 10th simple pass
  • No stipulation in aggregate, 33% in each subject mandatory.

What are the Agnipath Scheme Benefits to the Youths?

There are various Agneepath Scheme Benefits given to the Agniveers. The candidates just go through the following Agneepath Scheme Benefits under the advantages of the Agneepath Scheme.

  • The Agniveers will get a first-year salary package starting from 4.76 lakh.
  • They will get an up-gradation by the 4th fourth up to 6.92 lakh.
  • They will get a non-contributory insurance cover of 48 lakh.
  • After their tenure is over, they will receive the “Seva Nidhi“ package of 11-12  lakh from the Government of India. The ‘Seva Nidhi’ will be exempt from Income Tax.
  • The monthly contribution from the individual will partly contribute to the “Seva Nidhi” Package.
  • They will get skill certificates and bank loans after the completion of their service which will hello them in their second career.

  • With the Agneepath Govt Scheme, a younger and a bigger youthful profile of the armed forces will be achieved. The

  • Right now the army recruits youths for a short service commission for an initial tenure of 10 years tenure. This 10-year tenure is extendable to 14 years of service.

  • The government stated that the system will come into immediate effect and will govern the enrollment for the 3 services- Army, Air Force and Navy. This statement implies that the existing framework of the enrolment of the soldier will still exist.

  • The Home Minister, Amit Shah has expressed that the Agniveers will get preferential job opportunities in Central Armed Police Force.

  • With the Agneepath Govt Scheme, the Government of India aims to cut down the high salary and pension bill out of the budget. The Defense Budget for the year 2022-2023 was 525166 crore whereas 119696 crores went to the pension accounts. 233000 crore was allocated for the revenue expenditure which includes the salaries and expenditure on maintenance.
