(780- 728 = 52 i.e equals to 5%

100% = 52/5 × 100 = 1040 )

7. A girl was asked to multiply a number by 8/7 instead she divided the number by 7/8 and got the result 15 more than the correct result. The sum of the digits of the number was-

(8x/7 = 7x/ 8 + 15
8x/7 – 7x/8 = 15
By solving it , x = 56

8. A group of 1200 army persons consisting of captains and soldiers is travelling in a train. For every 15 soldiers there is one captain. The number of captains in the given group is-

( In 1 group = 15 soldiers + 1 captain i.e 16 person
∴ 1200/16 = 75 groups = 75 captains.)

10. L.C.M of two numbers is 28 times of their H.C.F and sum of L.C.M and H.C.F is 1740. If one of the number is 240, then another number is-

( L.C.M =28 H.C.F
L.C.M + H.C.F = 1740
28H.C.F + H.C.F = 1740
H.C.F = 1740/29 =60
L.C.M = 28 × 60 = 1680
∴ 60 × 1680 = 240 × x
X = (60×1680)/240 = 420 ans)
