Answers with Solution:

1.(A)

2.(A)

3.(C) Part of the tank filled in first 2 hours.
1/4 + 1/6 = (3+2)/12 = 5/12 parts
so Part of the tank filled in first 4 hours
= (2*5)/12 parts = 5/6 parts
Remaining part = 1 – 5/6 = 1/6
Now it is the turn of pipe A
Time taken to fill 1/4 part = 1 hour
So Time taken to fill 1/6 part
= 1/6*4 = 2/3 hour
So Total time = 4 + 2/3 = 4 2/3 hours

4.(B)
If the length and breadth of a rectangular are changed by x% and y% respectively
the effective change in area = (x + y + xy/100)%
Here, x = -25. y = -25
so Percentage decrease (-25-25+25*25/100)%
= (-50+6.25)% = -43.75%

5. (A)

6. (D)

7. (B)
a/b = b/c => b^2 = ac
so a^4 : b^4 = a^4 : a^2c^2 = a^2:c^2

8. (B)

9. (D)
5x*6x = 120*HCF
30x^2 = 120*x
x = 4

10. (A)
Ratio of the values of coins = 3/1 : 5/2 : 7/4= 12:10:7
so value of the one rupee coins
= Rs. (12/29*145)= Rs.60 Number of One rupee coins
