NTA NEET Counselling delay: What was in the plea?
The petitioners argued that they do not want to fail Physics because they are unfamiliar with the topic and that it would be better if it were tested by specialists who are fluent in both Hindi and English. According to the students, there was a “discrepancy and patent error” in question number 2 of the Physics part of the NEET-UG question paper, and the terms “amplitude of current” were removed in the English to Hindi translation of the question. Candidates who attempted the questions using the Hindi translation came up with a different solution. The question, according to the petitioners, put Hindi-speaking pupils in a “disadvantageous position,” risking their future.
On November 24, the hearing was held. The National Testing Agency agreed to investigate the alleged inaccuracy during the hearing. Tushar Mehta, the Solicitor General of India, stated that an affidavit will be submitted stating the expert panel’s decision and that all students who passed the exam will be eligible for NEET 2021 counselling. Candidates will be assigned places in medical institutes across India; however, NEET Counselling dates have not yet been announced and will be following the Supreme Court’s decision.

NEET UG Counselling 2021: Criteria For EWS & OBC Quota
The Supreme Court was informed on Thursday that the Central Government has decided to reconsider the Rupees 8 lakh annual income ceiling for identifying the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and will make a new decision within four weeks.
The Centre further stated about the NEET admissions counselling is to be postponed for later. According to the Centre, it has been postponed for another four weeks. It is to be noted that the postponement is only until a new decision on the EWS criterion is made.
While hearing a batch of petitions, the Supreme Court had already raised various doubts about this EWS criteria and made a prima facie observation that it appeared to be arbitrary.
