UP Board Syllabus 2020-21 Reduced: Schools across the country have been closed since March 2020 due to the dangerous situation created by the Coronavirus pandemic. As the new academic year could still not be started effectively, there has been growing demand for a reduction in the course curriculum for the academic year 2020-21. Recently, CBSE announced a 30% reduction in the course curriculum for students of classes 10th and 12th.

Thereafter, several state education boards, including Haryana and Rajasthan, also announced a reduction in the syllabus for students studying in classes 9th to 12th. Now, following the cue, the UP Board has also decided to reduce the syllabus for the academic year 2020-21. This information was shared by the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Dinesh Sharma, who informed that due to the COVID-19 situation, it is impossible to open schools for the students. As a result, the state government is contemplating a reduction in the syllabus to reduce the burden on the students.

Serious Discussions Underway for a Final Decision

There have been reports in the media that discussions are underway at multiple levels in the state to take a final call regarding the reduction in the course curriculum. It has been reported that a final decision will be taken only after discussions with concerned departments. Students will be informed regarding the final decision regarding the reduction in the up board syllabus for the academic year 2020-21 through the official website of the UP Board and the state education department.

It has also been informed that this will be a one-time decision only, in wake of the extraordinary circumstances in the state pertaining to the Coronavirus pandemic. Students can now breathe a sigh of relief because the pressure regarding the studies will be reduced significantly. It is advisable to check with their schools along with the website of the Uttar Pradesh Board for the latest updates and information.
