About UGC NET 2021

University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) of India . This is a National-level exam for the graduates aspiring for the position of Assistant Professor or Junior Research fellowship(NRF) in Indian Universities. Every year NTA introduces two forms for NET but last year the NTA form was not published in the month of December due to COVID-19 , the NTA form of December will be published now and the exams will be conducted in the month of May. Detail Notification has been introduced by NTA and the application process has been started from 2 February 2021 and aspirants can fill the online form till 2 March 2021. The last day to fill the application is 3 March 2021 (11:50pm).

Exam Dates (Tentetive) & Duration

Duration for examination will be 3 hours (180 mins) there will be no break between Paper1 and Paper 2.Computer Based Test(CBT) will be the mode of examination. The examination center, dates and shifts will be mentioned in the Admit card .

There will be two shifts :

First Shift

Second Shift

9:00 am to 12:00 pm

3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Only those candidates will be awarded as Junior Research Fellowship(JRF) who will attain maximum aggregate in Paper-1 and Paper-2 of UGC-NET whereas the candidates eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor will depend only upon the aggregate performance in both sets of papers . The Assistant Professor who has been qualified will be undergone through many tests and governed by the respective government /colleges,/universities / state .

Admit cards issued in month of April 2021.The dates introduced by NTA for NET are from May 2,3,4,5,6,7,10,11,12,14 and 17.

UGC NET Eligibility 2021

Following are the basic criteria a aspirant should attain to appear for this national level exam :

  • Aggregate of 55% in PG(Post Graduation) : Aspirants who wants to appear for UGC-NET have should hold a degree with a aggregate of minimum 55% in their post graduation and aspirants who have been waiting for their final examination results of PG are also eligible to apply online for UGC-NET.

  • Age should not exceed above 31 years as it may concern for the post of JRF: There is a set criteria for the post of JRF , aspirants should have their age less than 31 years to seek this post.

  • No age limit to apply for the post of Assistant Professor: Aspirants can appear for the post of Assistant Professor without any eligibility criteria of age limit .

The UGC-NET syllabus is revised by NTA. The UGC-NET consists of two papers (paper-1 & paper-2) comprises MCQs(Multiple Choice Questions), Aspirants who want to appear for this exam must complete these two sets of paper in a single duration of 3 hours.
