Ever since the nationwide lockdown has come into effect, the government authorities are trying their best to maintain continuity in the flow of information. In this series, the Union Human Resource Development Minister, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has been conducting a series of live webinars with different stakeholders. He previously webinars with students as well as head of the schools.

 

This time the minister conducted a Live Webinar with teachers on 14th May 2020, starting from 12.00 noon. As the announcement for the webinar had been made a few days in advance, questions and inputs were invited from teachers regarding the same. He tweeted that, “Teachers, I am sure you are doing your best to ensure a smooth learning experience for your students during the #lockdown. Let’s talk about it.” He further added, “I would love to address your queries too. Have you shared them yet?” 

 

Now that the webinar as concluded, let’s have a look at the key highlights of the live webinar conducted for teachers on 14th May 2020:-

 

  1. The HRD Minister thanked the teachers during the webinar for taking upon the challenging task of imparting education to crores of students across the country. He said that this effort becomes more important as all the schools and educational institutions have been closed due to the nationwide lockdown.
  1. He further commended the teachers for their role in continuing education during lockdown by adding that, “In such a time, it is our teachers who have given us mental strength. We have used all the resources at hand to bring education and educational resources online to make it easier for students.”
  1. He conveyed to the teachers that education s not just about imparting bookish knowledge but also moral knowledge that can channelize the minds of the students and turn them into complete individuals.
  1. Teachers asked that how can they conduct 4 hours of online classes after evaluating answer sheets. The minister replied that the evaluation process has started in certain regions. But teachers who are appointed for evaluation of answer sheets will not be assigned any other duty. Otherwise they can inform the authorities, if such a situation arises.
  1. The minister also informed that the answer sheets are being delivered at the homes of teachers in order to ensure that the process of evaluation continues during the lockdown as well.
  1. He also informed the audience that a timeline of 50 days has been set for completion of the evaluation of answer sheets for CBSE Exams. After the evaluation is complete, the result will be declared soon after that.
  1. On a question that when will schools reopen, the minister replied that the lives of the teachers and students are more important. He said that problems are being worked out because “How will a classroom be able to hold 40 students if social distancing is carried out?”.
  2. The decision to re-open the schools will be taken by a UGC Task Force which will decide how and when to reopen the schools and colleges. He further informed that NCERT has also been asked to formulate guidelines for the academics.
  3. Mr. Nishank expressed his views that he never thought that education in India would go completely online. He said, “We never thought we will face a situation where we will need to bring education online all over the country.” 
  4. He announced the LEAP program through which principals, headmasters, and administrators can boost their leadership skills. This will answer all the queries as well as fill the gaps in their existing knowledge.

 

The nationwide lockdown prompted by the Coronavirus pandemic affected all sectors of the country, but the education sector of the country was the worst affected of all. Not only were all schools shut down but the pending exams for class 10th and 12th students were also postponed. There were various rumors doing rounds in the media regarding the pending papers, but no information was available regarding the exact dates.

 

Now, finally, there is an important update for all the class 10th and 12th students whose board exams were halted midway in March 2020. As per the announcement by the HRD Minister, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the pending exams for class 10th and 12th CBSE board students will now be conducted between 1st July 2020 to 15th July 2020. CBSE Exam Dates 2020: Exams Only For Pending Papers

While announcing the dates for the pending board exams on Twitter, the HRD minister also stated that exams would only be conducted for the pending papers. Subjects for which the exams have already been conducted, before the lockdown, will not be conducted again. Moreover, the minister further elaborated that exams will be conducted only for the main papers and not for electives.

He said that for Inter students (class 12th), only 12 main papers are remaining, so they will only have to appear for those remaining papers. The exams will be conducted for the students of Class 10th And 12th Between 1st July 2020 to 15th July 2020. CBSE Board Exams 2020: Important update for East Delhi Students

The CBSE Board Exams in examination centres in East Delhi had been postponed due to the anti-CAA protests and ensuing riots in the area. Today, the HRD Minister explained that a total of 6 exams were pending for the class 10th (High School  Students) and 23 exams were pending for class 12th students. These students will now have the chance to appear for these exams on the given dates. Details regarding the examination dates and centres will be shared on the official website of CBSE Board soon.

Summing up his message, the HRD minister wished the students “All the Best” and expressed hope that all students will be able to perform well in the exams. He also stated that ample time is now available for preparations, so students must utilize this time to prepare for the pending board exams.

After the exams are completed on 15th July 2020, the final results will be released soon by CBSE Board to facilitate the next academic session as well as start the admission process for colleges and universities. HRD Minister Live Webinar:

The education sector in the country is one of the severely affected areas due to the coronavirus lockdown. Educational institutions have been shut, students have no other option but to follow online classes, entrance examinations have been postponed, final results for 10th and 12th board students are delayed, and several other issues are plaguing the government.

 

The HRD Minister, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, has been trying his best to address the issues and dissuading the apprehensions in the students and the parents.

That is why he conducted a live webinar on 5th May 2020 at 12 noon, where he answered some of the burning questions affecting the students in India. The following are the ten major highlights of the HRD Minister Webinar.

 

HRD Minister Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank Live Webinar Highlights Board Exams, JEE, NEET Entrance Exams 2020:

 

  1.  JEE Main 2020 Exam will be conducted in July: – The HRD Minister announced that the dates for JEE Main 2020 Exam have been confirmed from 19th July to 23rd July. The exam will be conducted by the NTA, and detailed guidelines will be published on the NTA website soon.
  2. NEET 2020 Exam will be held in July: – The HRD Minister confirmed that the NEET 2020 Exam will be conducted on 26th July 2020. He elaborated that the exam is extremely important for students as more than 17 lakh students will appear for NEET 2020
  3. JEE Advanced will be conducted in August: – During the HRD Minister Webinar, Mr. Nishank confirmed that the JEE Advanced will now be held in August instead of July. He elaborated that the schedule and other details for JEE Advanced 2020 will be confirmed soon by IIT Delhi, which is the conducting body.
  4. Learning material for students in rural areas: – The minister elaborated that in order to make sure that students residing in rural areas with poor internet connectivity have access to the learning material, the e-learning content will be made available on SWYAM Prabha which is a bouquet of educational channels available on DD and other DTH platforms.
  5. Availability of NCERT and CBSE Textbooks: – The minister told that bookshops and stationery shops to remain open during the lockdown to ensure availability of NCERT and CBSE Textbooks. If any books are unavailable, students can reach out to him or the ministry on social media.
  6. Hostel Students Are Safe: – HRD Minister confirmed that more than 80% of students had reached their homes, and those remaining in hostels are being well taken care of and are completely safe.
  7. Exams for final year college students: – Pending exams for final year college students will now be held in July, and the new academic session will start from August 2020.
  8. Results for intermediate semesters: – Results for intermediate semesters will be based on 50% weightage to present exams and 50% weightage to prior exams.
  9. Lack of study material: – The minister said that if students are facing a shortage of study material, they must use the DIKSHA portal, which has a huge repository of over 80,000 study material, including e-learning content.
  10. Gratitude to students and teachers: – He expressed his gratitude for the patience exhibited by the students and teachers. He elaborated that India is better positioned than in other countries.

 

This was his second webinar in a month. The live webinar was attended by hundreds of thousands of students and parents.

 

 

The nationwide lockdown prompted due to the COVID-19 pandemic has virtually brought the education sector in the country to a screeching halt. Ever since mid-March, all educational institutions, as well as competitive examinations, have been postponed indefinitely. As a result, students and their parents are facing a lot of uncertainties.

New Dates For JEE 2020 And NEET 2020 To Be Announced Soon

The JEE 2020 and NEET 2020 have been postponed due to the nationwide lockdown leaving the students and their parents staring at uncertainty. Finally, the Human Resource Development Ministry has announced that the dates for JEE 2020 and NEET 2020 will now be announced on May 5, 2020, Tuesday. Addressing media, a senior officer of the HRD ministry said that “The fresh dates will be announced by HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank‘ on May 5. This will put an end to uncertainty for the aspirants. The minister will also interact with students on the same day.

Thereafter, the Human Resource Development Minister, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, tweeted that, “Students, I am hosting a webinar exclusively for you, via my Twitter(@DrRPNishank) & Facebook (@cmnishank) pages. NTA To Announce The Dates For JEE 2020 And NEET 2020

For the uninitiated, the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is conducted for admissions into engineering colleges across the country. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is conducted for admissions into the medical colleges across India. Both these exams are conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Dates for the JEE 2020 and NEET 2020 will be announced by the NTA on its official website after the notification is issued by the HRD Ministry. So, the students and the parents are advised to regularly check out the NTA website for updates regarding the JEE 2020 and NEET 2020. Any information circulating on social media should be verified first.

 

Board Exam Dates To Also Be Announced

Along with the dates for JEE 2020 and NEET 2020, dates for the board exams will also be declared. The admission process for the engineering and medical colleges will be commenced only after the class 12th board results are declared. As of now, the dates of remaining exams for class 12th and class 10th students are yet to be announced by the CBSE.

Now, as the nationwide lockdown has been extended, the dates for class 12th exams and class 10th exams will be announced after the situation normalizes across the country.
