Rajasthan Schools will Start From 1st July, No Decision On Pending Board Exams

Due to the nationwide lockdown induced by the Coronavirus pandemic, schools in Rajasthan are also closed since the mid-March 2020. As a result, students have been forced to continue their studies through online learning platforms. The government had been saying that the schools will be opened only after the lockdown had been lifted but was not giving any firm dates; as a result, students were left staring at uncertainty regarding their academic future.

 

But finally, there is an important update on this matter. As per the latest announcement from the education minister of Rajasthan, Mr. Govind Singh Dostara, the classes for the new session will commence from 1st July 2020. This implies that the schools in Rajasthan will re-open from 1st July 2020. This announcement was made by the education minister during a video meeting with over 50 teacher organizations of Rajasthan.

 

 

Rajasthan Schools Reopening: Detailed guidelines issued by the government

The education minister elaborated on the detailed guidelines issued by the government regarding the re-opening of the schools. He said that while the schools will be reopening from 1st July 2020, the teachers will be required to report to the schools from either 26th June or 27th June 2020. The minister said due to the coronavirus situation these dates might change, but the tentative dates are almost finalized.

 

When asked about the pending board exams for class 10th and 12th students in the state, the minister said that no decision had been taken yet on conducting the exams for pending board exams.

 

Rajasthan Schools Reopening: Admission Process To Go Online

 

The teachers’ organizations raised a concern that the academic session has already been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic and that the admission process should now start in the schools. The education minister also elaborated that the admission process for English medium schools will be conducted online this year.

 

Guidelines have been issued to the schools regarding the same. Parents and guardians will be able to access the online admission process for the current academic year. The same facility of online admissions is also being considered for Hindi medium schools as well.

 

Rajasthan School Reopening: Other important updates

 

While the schools will now be re-opening soon but still there is no clarity regarding the pending board exams for class 10th and 12th. As such, the students have no other option but to wait for an announcement from the government. The education minister further added that pregnant teachers and those observing fasts during Ramadan are not being assigned any Coronavirus related duty. Other female teachers will be asked to join Corona duty only if absolutely necessary.
