There is an extremely crucial announcement pertaining to the class 10th students in the state of Punjab whose board exams under PSEB could not be completed due to the nationwide lockdown. As per the announcement by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Capt. Amarinder Singh, students of class 10th whose board exams could not be held, will be promoted to class 11th based on their scores in the pre-board exams.
He said that this decision had been made after considering the prevailing conditions in the state due to Coronavirus. He also stated that students of classes 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th would also be promoted to the respective next classes without the exams. The CM Tweeted, “Have decided to promote students of Class V & VIII to next classes as well as to promote class X students to the next class on the basis of pre-board results. For Class XII examinations, we will follow the Government of India’s decision.“
PSEB Results 2020: Summer Vacations Announced
A few days back, the state government of Punjab announced summer vacations for all schools and colleges operating under the aegis of the state government. As per the announcement, all schools and colleges in Punjab operating under Punjab Government will remain closed from May 15th, 2020 to June 15th 2020 on account of the summer vacations.
Summer break for all the schools in the state was announced from April 11th, 2020, which will now continue till June 15th 2020. As a matter of fact, Punjab was one of the first states to announce the closure of schools and colleges due to the looming threat of the Coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, the school students have been advised to continue their studies from home with the help of the e-learning resources made available by their schools as well as the state government.
PSEB Results 2020: Class 12th students will have to wait
While class 10th students are being promoted based on their pre-board results in Punjab, class 12th students in Punjab will have to wait for a few more days regarding the final decision for conducting the pending examinations. Earlier, the central government announced to conduct class 12th exams for the remaining main papers for CBSE Board in the month of July.
The HRD Minister tweeted that, “The students have been impatiently waiting for the schedule for pending exams. It has been decided today that the exams will be conducted from July 1st, 2020 to July 15th, 2020.” But regarding the pending exams under PSEB, no decision has been taken yet. So, the students must wait for a final announcement from the state government regarding their exams.
