Tokyo Olympics 2021 India
The 2020 Summer Olympics, commonly known as Tokyo 2021 or the Games of the XXXII Olympiad, were an international multi-sport competition that took place in Tokyo, Japan, from July 23, 2021, to August 8, 2021. Some preliminary competitions started on July 21, 2021. On September 7, 2013, Tokyo was chosen to host the event at the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Olympic Games were initially slated to run from 24 July to 9 August 2020, but on 24 March 2020, the event was postponed until 2021 owing to the global COVID-19 epidemic, marking the first time in the event’s history. For marketing purposes, the event did however continue to use the Tokyo 2020 moniker. The Greater Tokyo Area having been declared in a state of emergency in reaction to the pandemic, it was mostly held behind closed doors with no public spectators allowed, making it the first and only Olympic Games to be hosted without official spectators. With a total cost of almost $20 billion, the Games were the most expensive ever.

The mascot for the Tokyo Olympics 2021 is called Miraitowa, which is a combination of the Japanese words Mirai, which means “Future,” and Towa, which means “Eternity.” The mascot symbolises both the new and the old, echoing the concept of “innovation from harmony.” Ryo Taniguchi designed the mascot for the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
The original Olympic motto, “Faster, Higher, Stronger,” was changed to “Faster, Higher, Stronger- Together.” This change to the motto was made to show solidarity at a time when COVID-19 was wrecking havoc around the globe. Latin for “Citius, Altius, Fortius, Communiter” would be the new motto.
