Odisha Board Result Date 2020: Matric Paper Evaluation Begins On May 20

Odisha Board Result Date 2020: Due to the Coronavirus related nationwide lockdown, academic activities across the country have been put on hold since the third week of March 2020. This not only includes the task of conducting the examinations but also the evaluation of completed answer sheets. But now as certain relaxations have been given in the third phase of the lockdown and the lockdown itself is about to end in a few days, authorities are gearing up to resume the academic activities as soon as possible.  This includes the evaluation of the answer books in Odisha. As per the announcement from the state government, the process of evaluation of answer sheets for the Odisha Matric Exams 2020 will now commence from 20th May 2020. The evaluation will be administered by the Odisha Board of Secondary Education.

The board has identified 60 evaluation centres across the state for the task and has also appointed more than 6,000 additional evaluators to expedite the process. The government has instructed that the evaluation centres will be following all social distancing guidelines. While no specific date for declaration of results has been announced yet, but the education minister of the state expressed hopes that the final results will be available by the end of July 2020.

 

Odisha Matric Exams 2020: Results To Be Announced in July

The Odisha Matric Exams 2020 were conducted from 19th February 2020 to 2nd March 2020 in which over 5 lakh students participated. The evaluation process started on 18th June, but within two days, it had to be halted due to the increased risk of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Now that the evaluation process will be recommencing soon, the Education Minister of Odisha, Mr. Samir Ranjan Dash expressed hopes that the evaluation task will be completed soon and results for class 10th students can be expected by the end of July 2020. If any evaluation center falls in the containment zone, the government will decide on it on a case to case basis. Special incentives have been announced for the evaluators as well.

Odisha Matric Exams 2020: Zero Fail Mission Launched

Due to the lockdown and announcement of summer vacations, schools in Odisha will remain closed till 17th June 2020. In the meanwhile, the government has launched a zero fail mission. Under this initiative, the government will be starting extra classes during summer vacations to help weak students prepare for the exams.

While announcing this mission, the education minister added that “Students who are weak in studies need special attention. Under the ‘zero fail mission’, we want to make sure that all schools in Odisha attain 100 percent results.” It will be a good opportunity for students to catch up on the study time lost due to the Coronavirus lockdown. In the meanwhile, the students have been advised to make use of the Online Learning Resources made available by the state government and their respective schools to continue their learning.
