CBSE Syllabus 2020-21 Reduced 30%: There is an extremely important update from the Central Board of Secondary Education concerning all the students of classes 9th to 12th, whose studies have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to offer them relief from the academic burden, the CBSE has taken a decision to reduce the course curriculum by up to 30% for the academic year 2020-21. The announcement was made by the Union Human Resource Development Minister, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, through his twitter handle. The minister tweeted that, “Looking at the extraordinary situation prevailing in the country and the world, CBSE was advised to revise the curriculum and reduced course load for the students of classes 9 to 12. To aid the decision, a few weeks back I also invited suggestions from all educationists on the reduction of the syllabus for students and I am glad to share that we received more than 1.5K suggestions. Thank you, everyone, for the overwhelming response.”
The reduced syllabus for class 9th to 12th students has been released on www.cbseacademic.nic.in. All the students and teachers are advised to download the updated syllabus and continue the education as per the new guidelines from the CBSE. Check | NCERT Solutions

CBSE Board New Syllabus 2020-21: Details Revealed by The Minister
The minister further added that “Considering the importance of learning achievement, it has been decided to rationalize syllabus up to 30 percent by retaining the core concepts.” The course curriculum has been reduced while ensuring that the core elements of the curriculum are retained. He also stated that the changes in the course syllabus have been finalized by the course committee for each subject after receiving approval from the governing body of the board and the curriculum committee.

Another senior official from the HRD Minister, while interacting with the media stated that “The heads of schools and teachers have been advised by the board to ensure that the topics that have been reduced are also explained to the students to the extent required to connect different topics. However, the reduced syllabus will not be part of the topics for internal assessment and year-end board examination.” He further added that all the schools affiliated with CBSE will be following the alternative academic calendar with the help of recommended mediums as prescribed by the NCERT.
