NDA Salary 2023 & Other Allowances
In addition to the basic pay, NDA officers and other officers of the Indian Armed Forces receive various allowances, designed to compensate for the hardships and expenses associated with military service. Some of the common allowances given to NDA officers are as follows-
- Dearness Allowance: This allowance is paid to compensate for inflation and the cost of living. It is calculated as a percentage of the basic pay and is revised twice a year.
- Military Service Pay: All officers of the Indian Armed Forces are paid Military Service Pay, and it is based on their rank. It ranges from ₹ 15500 to ₹ 30000 per month.
- Field Area Allowance: This is paid to officers who are posted in areas that are classified as field areas. Its amount depends on the rank and place of posting of the officer.
- Special Forces Allowance: This is paid to officers posted in Special Forces units. Its amount depends on the officer and the type of special forces unit.

The salary of an NDA officer with promotion is as follows:
- On attaining the rank of Captain from Lieutenant Colonel, the salary of ₹ 56100 increases to ₹ 61300.
- Salary increases from ₹ 61300 to ₹ 69400 per month on becoming captain.
- On promotion to Lieutenant Colonel from Nazar, the salary increases from ₹ 69400 per month to ₹ 121200 per month.
- On promotion from Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel, the salary increases from ₹ 121200 to ₹ 130600.
- On promotion from Colonel to Brigadier, the salary increases from ₹ 130600 to ₹ 139600 per month.
- On promotion from Brigadier to Major General, the salary increases from ₹ 139600 to ₹ 144200 per month.
- On promotion from Major General to Lieutenant General, the salary increases from ₹ 144200 to ₹ 205400 per month.
