MHRD Releases Road Map for NCERT for New Academic Session 2020-21, Check details

NCERT New Academic Session 2020-21: The Ministry of Human Resource Development has released a new roadmap to be followed by the National Council for Education Research and Training for the next academic year. The process of designing the curriculum and content must be completed by NCERT latest by October 2020 for the students of classes 1st to 5th. While launching the new roadmap, the officials from the school education and literacy department of the Ministry of Human Resource Development stated that it must be effectively implemented for India to tread towards the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The press released while introducing the road map read that, “With this, we can improve the level of learning as well as the level of learning outcome of education in the coming time.”

The HRD Minister, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank stated that “We will have to change the format and system of education in the coming times so that we can take education to every corner of the country. NCERT will complete this work through the roadmap being released today. We sincerely hope that in the way we have changed the Corona crisis period as an opportunity, in the same way, all of us will adopt a new normal and give a new dimension to the Indian education system.”

MHRD Releases Road Map for NCERT for New Academic Session 2020-21:

  • The online teacher training course for the teachers responsible for teaching students from class 1st to 5th must be completed in a phased manner by December 2020. For teachers responsible for teaching students from class 6th to 12th, the deadline is June 2021
  • Posters, presentations, and infographics to achieve the desired learning outcomes for students of classes 1st to 5th must be completed by October 2020 and for students of classes 6th to 12th by June 2021.
  • Alternative education material being prepared for students must keep in mind the requirements of the students who do not have any access to online learning resources.
  • In order to assess the learning outcome for all the subjects, a minimum of ten questions aimed at two levels of proficiencies to be created by November 2020 for students of classes 1st to 5th. For the remaining classes, the deadline for the same is March 2021.
  • Content and the curriculum to be designed in a manner so that it addresses areas of concerns identified in the National Academic Survey 2017.
