School Education Department of Maharashtra has directed all the schools of the respective Zila Parishads as well as the primary and secondary education officers to immediately declare the Maharashtra Result 2020. This notification pertains to the students of classes 1st to 9th as well as class 11th. As per the announcement, the final results can be declared on the official websites of the respective schools or can be conveyed to the parents or students through their registered mobile phones.
The exercise to declare Maharashtra Result 2020 immediately is being undertaken to get the new academic session underway immediately. Due to the nationwide lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the session has already been delayed significantly.
Request To Review The Decision: Brihanmumbai Association of Heads of Secondary And Higher Secondary Schools
While the state’s school education department has instructed the concerned officials and schools to declare the Maharashtra Results 2020, a request to review the aforementioned decision has been submitted by the Brihanmumbai Association of Heads of Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools. According to the representation submitted by the association, it is not possible for all schools to declare the results immediately.
The reason given by them is that due to the nationwide lockdown, the teachers can not come to the school to mark the answer sheets, which are presently stored in the school premises. The president of the association expressed the apprehension that as the lockdown is in place, the teachers can be mistreated by the police personnel if they try to travel to the schools.
Various steps being taken by the Maharashtra Government
The state government of Maharashtra is taking various steps to mitigate the effects of the nationwide lockdown on students. Earlier, the state department had announced that students from class 1st to 8th and class 11th to be promoted without exams as the lockdown might be extended even further, and already a lot of time has been wasted from the present academic session.
Moreover, the school education minister, Varsha Gaikwad, has requested that the evaluation of class 10th examination papers in low-risk areas to be completed as soon as possible. But it was not possible to do so as the answer sheets had not reached the exam centers.
Arrangements are being made to ensure that answer sheets reach the examination centers soon so that the evaluation process can commence for declaration of Maharashtra Result 2020.
The state government has also announced that it will start airing educational programs for students throughout the state with the help of television and radio programs. This initiative will help students with no or poor access to the internet and will help them continue with their studies.
