JEE Main Session 1 Exam day Dress Code and Instructions

Between January 24 and February 1, 2023, the National Testing Agency will administer the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) exam. Candidates who have registered and are looking for admission to a variety of programmes, including BE, BTech, BArch, and BPlanning, will be permitted to take the exam if they strictly adhere to the exam day instructions issued by the official agency.

There will be 290 cities in India and 18 cities outside of India where the JEE Main 2023 session 1 exam will take place. The NTA will schedule the tests for the BE and BTech JEE Main on various dates, including January 24, 25, 29, 30, 31 and February 1, 2023, while the exams for the BArch and BPlanning courses will take place on the second shift of January 28, 2023.

Additionally, it is advised that candidates who will be taking the JEE Main 2023 exam starting on January 24 download and print the entire JEE Main 2023 admit card. Entry to the centres without an admission card is prohibited.

JEE Main Session 1 Exam day Instructions: Documents Required

The candidates must be aware of what they must bring to the testing locations. The list of all the required documents for the JEE Main exam room is provided below.

  • 2023 JEE Mains Admit Card (all pages) Clearly legible A4-sized printing
  • Printout of a self-declaration form, undertaking, or proforma in A4 size (duly filled)
  • A valid photo ID an example of the candidate
  • A simple, clear ballpoint pen (blue or black)
  • To paste on the attendance sheet, make a copy of the identical photo that was used on the registration form.
  • Certificate of PwD (if applicable)
  • scribe-related documents (where applicable)

JEE Main Session 1 Exam day Instruction 2023: Other allowed Items

Following are the additional items that are allowed inside the Examination hall of the JEE Main Session 1 Exam Day:

  • A transparent water bottle
  • Gloves and a mask
  • Bottle of personal hand sanitizer (50 ml)
  • If the candidate has diabetes, sugar tablets and fruits (such as bananas, apples, and oranges) should be consumed.

JEE main Session 1 Exam Day Dress Code

Following is the JEE Main Session 1 Exam Day Dress Code that should be followed by the candidates:

  • Any metallic object is definitely forbidden while taking the JEE Main 2023 exam.
  • Candidates should refrain from donning any jewellery or accessories.
  • They are also prohibited from donning any type of electronic watch.
  • Candidates who wear a kirpan or kara for religious reasons must arrive at the exam site an hour before the gate closes and notify the officials as well.
  • Candidates are not permitted to wear a cap, dupatta, or other head covering unless it is part of their traditional attire, in which case they must first obtain permission.

According to the board’s examination standards, participants taking the JEE Main 2023 exam are required to present their admit cards and the self-declaration form on the exam day. Aspirants must comply to a specified set of guidelines at all times. Without their hall tickets, they won’t be able to enter the exam room.

Is there any dress code for JEE Main exam?

Caps, scarves, stoles, and jewellery made of metal are the only items that are prohibited in the JEE Main 2023 uniform. However, it is essential that students dress appropriately for the season and the weather before participating in NTA JEE Main 2023.

Can I wear shoes in JEE exam?

Avoid wearing clothing with too many pockets. It's not permitted to wear a scarf, cap, dupatta, etc. Large-button clothing and shoes with heavy soles are not permitted.

Can we wear bra in JEE mains?

Metallic clothing elements are not allowed. Belts, underwired bras, etc. are a few examples. It is best to wear a regular T-shirt with jeans or a top or kurta with leggings. It is necessary to prioritise cotton, Khadi, and other breathable textiles.
