JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2023
IIT Guwahati has most recently changed its JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2023 and registration costs for applicants who are Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and taking the JEE Advanced 2023 Examination. JEE Advanced is a national-level entrance examination that allows candidates to gain admittance to 23 IITs’ undergraduate Engineering, Science, and Architecture programs.
Previously, IIT Guwahati announced in an official notification that Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) students seeking entry to different IITs in India can now get straight admission into JEE Advanced without taking the JEE Main 2023. According to the timetable, JEE Advanced 2023 registration forms will be made available in April online on the official website. Candidates are recommended to read the JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2023 before filling out the JEE Advanced registration form 2023.
JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2023 Important Dates
The JEE Advanced 2023 entrance exam is set to take place on June 4, 2023. The best 2,50,000 JEE Main applicants will be invited to take the JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is the following level of the JEE examination. However, IIT Guwahati will be in control of the JEE Advanced in 2023. though it’s not official yet. JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2023 Modifications for OCI & PIO
The JEE Advanced qualifying requirements for Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) have been changed.
- According to the formal notice, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) candidates who pass the JEE Advanced 2023 entrance exam will be qualified and compete for unreserved category seats in the General and GEN-Person with Disability (PwD) categories.
- In addition, qualified female Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Persons of Indian Origin candidates who pass the JEE Advanced 2023 examination will be regarded for the Open Female Supernumerary seats in the General (Gen) and GEN-Person with Disability (PwD) categories, according to the official notification.
- Also, the applicable charge for such applicants has been adjusted to reflect the fee paid by Indian residents.

JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2023 Official Release
On February 3, 2023, the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India issued its decision in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 891/ 2021, captioned Anushka Rengunthwar & Ors. Vs Union of India & Ors. In an emergency conference on March 6, 2023, the Joint Admission Board, 2023, reviewed the effect of the decision. As a result, some changes have been made to the JEE (Advanced) 2023 Information Brochure.
Overseas Citizen of India/ Person of Indian Origin (OCI/PIO) applicants’ qualifying requirements will stay the same as earlier stated, i.e. they will be qualified to take JEE (Advanced) 2023 without first taking JEE (Main) 2023. This regulation will only be in force until 2023. The fees for OCI/PIO applicants have been revised and are now equivalent to those for Indian residents.
The JEE (Advanced) 2023 qualifying OCI/PIO applicants will be permitted to contend for Open category seats in the General (GEN) and GEN-Person with Disability (GEN-PwD) categories, as appropriate, during the seat allocation process for IITs. If they succeed in JEE (Advanced) 2023, qualified female OCI/PIO applicants will also be given consideration for open female supernumerary notices in the GEN and GEN-PwD categories.

JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2023
The NTA publishes the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria and instructions for applicants on its official website each year. The qualifying requirements for JEE Advanced 2023 are as follows:
- The JEE Advanced 2023 test is open to applicants who placed among the top 250000 in the JEE Main 2023 exam.
- Candidates cant sit for JEE Advanced exam for more than two consecutive years.
- Candidates must have passed the class 12 board examinations with a minimum score of 75%. The required number for reserved groups is 65 percent.
- The JEE Advanced 2023 entrance exam is open to applicants who are international citizens, Overseas Indian Citizens, Persons of Indian Origin, and Indian Citizens. However, there are some other restrictions by NTA for overseas students.

JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2023 According to the 12th or Equivalent Exam
- Candidates must have passed their class 12th board examinations or other comparable exams prior to taking the JEE Advanced 2023 exam.
- To determine the cutoff scores for class 12th board examinations, NTA examines the following five subjects: mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, optional language, and elective topic.
- If the total marks earned in any of the topics listed above are less than 100, the total marks earned will be scaled up and down to 100 when computing the aggregate proportion.
- Candidates who took their class 12th examinations or other comparable exams in or before 2020 are ineligible to take the JEE Advanced exam in 2023.
- If the class 12th examination board releases the results late, candidates who satisfy all of the JEE Advanced 2023 criteria are qualified to sit for the entrance exam.
- If an applicant’s class 12th board result isn’t released by the assessment body, the applicant will be unable to take the JEE Advanced 2023 exam.
- If an applicant takes the class 12th board examinations twice, the best of the two scores will be accepted for the JEE Advanced 2023 exam.
JEE Advanced Number of Attempts
The JEE Advanced entrance exam may be taken a maximum of twice in two years in a row by an Eligible candidate.
JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2023: Age Limit
JEE Advanced must have been born on or after October 1, 1997. Candidates who are SC, ST, or PwD are granted a five-year age reduction; therefore, they must have been born on or after October 1, 1992.
