Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan is the Education Minister of India 2023. Previously, the Ministry of Education was known as the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The Ministry of Education is a government ministry in India that is in charge of implementing the National Policy on Education, which is separated into two departments, namely:

  1. The Department of School Education and Literacy- Deals with primary, secondary, and higher secondary education, as well as adult education and literacy.
  2. The Department of Higher Education- Deals with university-level education, technical education, scholarships, and so on.

Who is the Education Minister of India 2023?- Dharmendra Pradhan

Dharmendra Pradhan, a member of the Council of Ministers, is the current education minister. Dharmendra Pradhan is an Indian politician who serves in the Indian government as the Minister of Education and the Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. He has also served as Minister of Steel and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
On September 3, 2017, Pradhan was appointed to Cabinet Minister, and he presently serves as a Member of Parliament for Madhya Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha. He had also formerly served in the 14th Lok Sabha.
While an upper secondary student at Talcher College, he became an A.B.V.P. activist and eventually became the president of the Talcher College Student Union. In 1983, Pradhan began his political career as an activist for the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). He was then elected as the organization’s secretary.
He was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha after holding several posts in the BJP and was even elected to the Rajya Sabha twice, once in Bihar and once in Madhya Pradesh.

First Education Minister of India- Abul Kalam Azad

Abul Kalam Azad was the first Education Minister of Independent India. His full name was Maulana Sayyid Abul Kalam Ghulam Muhiyuddin Ahmed bin Khairuddin Al-Hussaini Azad. He was a senior leader of the Indian National Congress, an Indian independence movement, an Islamic theologian, and a writer. Maulana is an honorific that means ‘Our Master,’ and he went by the pen name Azad. His contribution to the establishment of India’s educational foundation is recognised by the country’s celebration of his birthday as National Education Day.
As a young man, Azad wrote Urdu poetry as well as treatises on religion and philosophy. He rose to popularity as a journalist, writing works critical of the British Raj and advocating for Indian nationalist causes.
Azad rose to prominence as the head of the Khilafat Campaign, during which he met Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi and became an avid admirer of Gandhi’s nonviolent civil disobedience ideas, working to organise the non-cooperation movement in response to the 1919 Rowlatt Acts. Azad was dedicated to Gandhi’s ideas, which included promoting Swadeshi (indigenous) products and the cause of Swaraj (Indian self-rule). He became the youngest President of the Indian National Congress in 1923 when he was 35 years old.
Azad was one of the major organisers of the Dharasana Satyagraha in 1931, and he quickly rose to prominence as one of India’s most powerful national leaders, championing Hindu–Muslim unity as well as secularism and socialism. From 1940 until 1945, he was the president of the Congress, and it was at this time that the Quit India movement was launched. Azad, along with the entire Congress leadership, was imprisoned. Through the Al-Hilal newspaper, he also pushed for Hindu–Muslim reconciliation.
