What is the Language Test for CUET 2022?

Section 1 A: Language Test 

The purpose of the language test is to check the command of candidates over the language they are selecting. Section 1A has 13 languages, the candidates can attempt the CUET 2022 examination of Section 1 A in any one of the given languages. The following 13 languages of Section 1A are: 

Section 1 B: Language Test 

The authorities have given 20 languages in this section. The candidates can choose any one language except the one they have chosen in Section 1 A. The following 20 languages of Section 1 B are: 

Language Test Weightage in CUET 2022 Exam

The students appearing in the CUET 2022 can choose upto 3 languages combined from Section 1A and Section 1B. Each of the language Tests consists of 50 questions, in which the students have to answer 40 questions. The candidates will get a total of 45 minutes to complete each of the Language Tests. 

1. As per the marking scheme of CUET 2022 UG, the students will get +5 marks for each right answer and -1 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. 
2. Each language Test consists of 200 marks. 

Weightage of Topics in Language Test 

The main objective of taking a language test is to check the knowledge of the chosen language. The authorities have set certain parameters on which the language test will be conducted. Check the Language Test topics listed below: 

I. Language to be tested through Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary and Narrative, [Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary] MCQ Based Questions

Questions from the Language Section will be from the following topics but are not limited to: 

ii. Reading Comprehension: There will be three types of passages (maximum 300-350 words): 

1. Factual 
2. Narrative 

iii. Literary 

1. Verbal Ability
2. Rearranging the parts 
3. Choosing the correct word
4. Synonyms and Antonyms 
5. Vocabulary
