Chhattisgarh CGBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Exam Postponed Again Due to COVID-19 Lockdown

CGBSE Board Exams 2020 Postponed: There is an extremely important update for the CGBSE Exam class 10th and 12th students and their parents residing in Chhattisgarh. As per the latest announcement from the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), the examinations for the remaining subjects for class 10th and 12th students have now been postponed indefinitely.

Now, the examinations will be conducted only after the lockdown is lifted, and the situation returns to normal. Earlier, the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education had announced that the remaining papers would be conducted from May 4 to 8th May 2020. But now, as the exams have been postponed indefinitely, the students will have to wait for an announcement from the board with the new dates. In a previous announcement, the state government had notified that students from CGBSE Board Class 1st to 9th and class 11th will be promoted to the next class automatically. Then an official had stated that due to the lockdown till April 14, 2020, it is not possible to conduct the exams in the near future, and as such, all these students have been promoted without examination.

CGBSE Board Exam 2020: Postponed Again

Now the latest notification released by the CGBSE on its official website reads, “The 10th 12th board examinations scheduled between May 4 and May 8 have been deferred. Students and parents may please note that the examinations have not been canceled but only postponed and would be conducted at a later date.”

The notice further reiterates that the decision for deferment of examinations has been taken due to the lockdown, and exams will be conducted after the situation returns to normalcy. Parents and students have been advised to check the official website of CGBSE, i.e.,www.cgbse.nic.in, for further updates regarding the announcement of new dates for the examination and the results.

Originally, the exams were scheduled from March 2 to March 30, 2020. On March 19, the state government decided to shut all the schools to control the spread of coronavirus infection. While exams for several subjects had been conducted, exams for some subjects were still pending. These exams were initially postponed for May 4 to May 8, 2020, but have now been delayed further due to the deteriorating situation of Novel Coronavirus.

As the cases of Coronavirus positive patients in the state has been increasing steadily, the state government may be extending the lockdown further beyond May 3, 2020. In such a situation, the announcement of any examination dates as of now is not possible for the board. The parents and students are advised to check the board’s website regularly for updates.
