Human Resource and Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ proposed a 30% reduction in the CBSE syllabus for 2020-21. Although the deleted syllabus will be carried forward in the new session 2021-22. Because of the loss in classroom teaching time caused by the COVID-19 and lockdown, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) reduced 30% of the syllabus for the year 2021-22 for classes 9 to 12. The Central Board of Secondary Education has reduced the burden on students by deleting the syllabus. According to sources, CBSE rationalized the 2021-22 syllabus with the help of NCERT proposals, and the same is published by the official CBSE declaration. The CBSE deleted the syllabus while ensuring that the learning objectives remained consistent and students did not lose out on learning fundamental ideas in multiple areas. CBSE did not delete the important topics which will help students in their higher studies. The Board also noted in its official notice that, while 30 percent of the curriculum is being reduced for the new academic year 2021-22, teachers should ensure that students grasp these topics so that they can apply the material to other courses.
