CBSE 10th and 12th Board Exam 2022 Term 1: Date Sheet

It is now less than a month until the November Term 1 Exam. The most pressing concern among students preparing for the CBSE 10th Term 1 Exam 2021 and CBSE 12th Term 1 Exam 2021 is the exam date sheet. Students should be aware that the CBSE Date Sheet for Class 10, 12, and Term 1 Board Exams 2022 has yet to be announced by the Board. According to media reports and experts close to the board, the CBSE Board Term 1 Exam Date Sheet 2022 would be announced by the Board on October 10, 2021. Until then, students should keep an eye on the board’s official website, cbse.gov.in, or visit educational websites for the most up-to-date information.

CBSE 10th and 12th Term 1 Exam Mode: online or offline

The official notification issued by the CBSE Board earlier this year, announcing the new exam structure for Term 1 and Term 2 Exams, stated that the Term 1 Exam would be held at the school level in the months of November and December. However, the agreement did not specify the form of examination, leaving it as an open option to be selected later based on the country’s COVID-19 status. Given the current circumstances, which includes schools reopening for offline classes and the amount of COVID-19, the Term 1 exam will almost certainly be held offline at the school level. However, the board will provide final confirmation of this soon.

The CBSE Board had already announced earlier about the Term 1 and Term 2 Exams taking place in the months of November and December at the school level. The statement was issued as an official notice. However, the document did not specify the mode of investigation, leaving it open to interpretation based on the COVID-19 situation in the country. Given the current circumstances, which includes schools reopening for offline sessions and the amount of COVID-19, the Term 1 exam will most likely be held offline at the school level. The board will, however, provide final confirmation of this shortly.

CBSE Class 10th and 12th Term 1 Board Exam: Exam Pattern

The first exam will consist of objective type questions, also known as multiple choice questions or MCQs. The number of questions for each subject will vary; nevertheless, the exam will last the same amount of time, i.e. 2 hours for each subject. Students will have to mark their answers to all of the questions on OMR sheets that the board will send to the schools prior to the exam.

According to the CBSE Board’s exam notice, the total points for a paper would be divided in half for both term exams for the theory component of the paper. This means that if a subject’s total theory paper is worth 70 points, both terms will be worth 35 points.

While the overall share of marks for both exams, term 1 and term 2, has been evenly distributed, the weight distribution used to compile the final result will be determined by the mode and type of the exam. For example, if the Term 1 Exam is held offline and the Term 2 Exam is held online, the results of the Term 1 Exam will be more important. On the other hand, if the term 1 exam is conducted online and the term 2 exam is conducted offline, the latter will be given greater weight. The weight distribution would be same if both exams were held in offline mode, but term 2 had subjective questions.
