The Coronavirus pandemic has seriously impacted the educational sector in the country. All schools and colleges had been shut since March 2020, and there are no signs of them resuming the activities anytime soon. While many schools have been trying to continue education through the online medium, the success with it has been moderate so far. Moreover, many states are now televising the educational content using Doordarshan to help the students continue their education. But all the students are waiting for the resumption of classroom sessions as soon as possible.
There is now a piece of encouraging news for the school students in Andhra Pradesh. As per the latest announcement made by the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the schools in Andhra Pradesh will re-open from 3rd August 2020 when the new academic session commences. He made this announcement while participating in a review meeting of the Spandana Programme. The chief minister has directed the officers of the education department to make sure that the construction work undertaken in 15,715 schools during the first phase of Mana Badi Nadu-Nedu is completed by 31st July 2020.

While interacting with the media, the chief minister elaborated on the programme. He stated that the focus of the government was to develop the infrastructure of the schools, which has been divided into nine separate categories. For this purpose, additional funds of up to Rs. Four hundred fifty-six crores have been released by the government.
He further stated that it was important to ensure the availability of stocks of cement and sand in order to make sure that the work is completed by the due date. He said that the government had issued instructions to the district collectors to ensure that there is no scarcity of these two materials under any circumstances.
In the meantime, students have been advised to continue their learning sessions with the help of the online and offline resources made available by the government. When the schools will re-open, students will be expected to adhere to the guidelines pertaining to social distancing such as wearing face masks, using hand sanitizers, and observing social distancing.
Andhra Schools Reopening: Application Deadlines Extended
As per the latest statement issued by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, the last date for submission of application forms for all common entrance programs has been extended till 15th June 2020. All the candidates can now complete their online applications for these entrance exams till 15th June 2020, without any need to pay an additional late fee. So, all the students who could not complete the application forms due to any reason, can now complete their applications and be eligible to appear for the respective entrance exams.
