NICL AO Mains 2017 Exam was conducted in two parts
The objective test conducted had to be completed in 2 hours. The major 5 sections asked are Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness.
The descriptive test was of 30 marks that had to be completed in 30 minutes. The sections covered were Precis, Comprehension and Essay Writing.
NICL AO 2017 Mains Overall Analysis
Quantitative Aptitude: Maximum Questions were asked from Data Interpretation (around 15). Overall difficulty level of the paper was Moderate.
English Language:Reading Comprehension and Cloze Test (New Pattern) were two important topics comprising of 10 questions each were asked in this section. The overall level of paper was moderate-difficult.
Reasoning: Like all years, sitting arrangement and puzzles was the important section being asked in this section constituting of 15 questions in total. The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate.
Computer Applications: DBMS and basic computer skills were the important sections this year. The overall section of Computer Application was easy.
General Awareness: Around 12 questions were asked from Insurance Awareness and 2-3 questions were asked from Static GK. The overall level of difficulty of paper was easy-moderate.
The cut-off for NICL 2017 Exam will be released after each phase of examination is completed. Candidates can evaluate their selection chances by matching their score with the cut-off list released by NICL.

The notification for NICL 2017 exam was released on 30th March 2017. The last date to submit the application form was 20th April 2017. The preliminary exam is scheduled for June and the mains exam of NICL will be conducted after the results of the preliminary round of NICL has been declared. Preliminary stage of the NICL 2017 exam will be conducted on 3rd and 4th June 2017. Mains exam will be conducted on July 2nd, 2017. Questions asked in both the papers of NICL 2017 exam are Objective Multiple Choice Type. In addition to the objective paper asked in Mains exam, a descriptive paper of 30 marks will also be asked. NICL 2017 Exam will be conducted in three phase: Preliminary exam will be conducted first followed by Mains Exam. After the declaration of result of Mains Exam, interviews will be conducted for the selected students to determine the final selection for the post of Associate Officer through NICL 2017 exams.
There are basic 2 criteria which a candidate needs to fulfill to be eligible for NICL 2017 Exam. A candidate is required to hold a valid Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with an aggregate of 60% and above from a recognized university for NICL 2017 exam. A candidate is also required to be aged between 21-30 years while applying for this exam.
Preliminary exam of NICL 2017 Exam will have 3 major sections namely Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. Mains examination will have more or less same syllabus as that of preliminary exam with an inclusion of a descriptive test in English comprising of 30 marks. Apart from these two papers, an interview will be conducted for selected candidates.
The admit card for NICL 2017 Preliminary Exam will be released in a week’s notice from now. The admit card for NICL 2017 Mains exam were issued to candidates who qualify the preliminary round of NICL 2017 exam.
The results for NICL 2017 Exam will be released after each phase of the exam is completed. The result for preliminary exam will be declared first followed by the result of mains exam. The merit list will be prepared in the descending order of the marks obtained by candidates in the final interview round.
