UPSC ISS 2020 Notification: Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality

A candidate must be either:

(a) a Citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note: The candidates must be in possession of a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt. of India for categories (b), (c), (d), and (e).

2. Educational Qualification

1. For Indian Economic Service (IES):

The candidates must have obtained a Post Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a recognized university or a foreign university approved by the Central Government of India from time to time.

2. For Indian Statistical Service (ISS):

The candidates must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subjects OR
The candidates should hold a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a recognized university or a foreign university approved by the Central Government of India from time to time.

3. Age Limit

The candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August 2020 i.e he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1990 and not later than 1st August 1999.

Application Fee For UPSC IES Exam 2020

The application fee can be paid with either online mode or offline mode.
Applicants who opt for “Pay by Cash” mode should print the system generated Pay-in-slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only. “Pay by Cash” mode will be deactivated at 23.59 hours of 29.06.2020 i.e. one day before the closing date; however applicants who have generated their Pay-in- Slip before it is deactivated may pay at the counter of SBI Branch during banking hours on the closing date

Part-I Registration
  1.  Click on the official link, provided below.
  2. Click on the Apply link given on the page. A registration link will open up in the new window.

  4. Provide personal credentials like name, parents’ name, date of birth, email id, mobile number, etc.
  5. Click on the submit button to the completed online registration form of SBI PO.
  6. After the Registration, a Registration ID and a password will be sent to your mobile no. and email id.
Part-I Registration
  1. Login with the provided Registration ID, date of birth, and password to complete registration for UPSC IES 2020.
  2. Upload the photograph and signature.
  3. The candidates will then required to verify the details. Preview and verify the application form carefully.
  4. Lastly, pay the required application fee online.
  5. Take out a print out of the application form for future use.

The candidates will be selected through two stages of Exam:

  1.  Written Examination: 1000 marks
  2.  Viva Voce (Interview): 200 marks of candidates who will be shortlisted by UPSC.

UPSC ISS 2020: Exam Pattern

1. Written Exam

  1. UPSC IES ISS Exam will have 6 Papers in each of them.
  2. The questions papers in all the subjects will be of conventional (essay) type.
  3. Questions will be set in English and must be answered in English as well.
  4. Marks may be deducted if the handwriting is not easily understood. No marks will be given for superficial (slight) knowledge.
  5. There will be a negative marking of 0.33 for the incorrect answer in the Objective Paper.

UPSC IES 2020 Admit Card

Admit card or E-admission certificate will be issued to a candidate 3 weeks before the commencement of the exam. Candidates can download their respective admit cards from the official website of UPSC, upsconline.nic.in as well as through this website.

The candidates will require their RID (Registration ID) and date of birth or roll number and date of birth or name, father’s name, and date of birth to download the admit card.

UPSC ISS 2020 Answer Key

UPSC ISS 2020 Answer Key will be available online at the UPSC  official website. To download UPSC ISS 2020 Answer, candidates have to visit the website and just download the answer key given in PDF format.

UPSC IES 2020 Result

UPSC IES ISS 2020 Result will be declared in the UPSC official website, upsc.gov.in. The result is prepared in the merit list form. Names of only those candidates will be on the list who have qualified the minimum qualifying marks.

The shortlisted candidates’ will be allowed to appear for the interview round only if the name of the candidate is on the merit list. When a candidate is selected for the interview round, they will be asked to submit Detailed Application Form (DAF) online.

The UPSC IES ISS Interview Call Letter will be issued online. Candidates have to carry original documents with them at the time of the interview round.
