UPSC IAS Prelims Exam Centre: Keeping in view the interest of a large number of candidates of the civil services (preliminary) examination, 2020 (including the Indian Forest Service (preliminary) examination, 2020) and requests received from the candidates for changing their centers, the Commission has decided to give an opportunity to them to submit their revised choice of centre,” the UPSC said in a statement on July 1st, 2020.
The candidates will be able to change the UPSC IAS, IFS Prelims and Mains Exam Centre. The UPSC Prelims Exam is to be conducted on 4th October 2020 as per the UPSC Calendar.
UPSC Allows Civil Services Candidates To Change Exam Centres: Prelims & Mains
All the candidates who have applied for the UPSC Civil Services 2020, will be able to revise or change their choice of test centre, the Union Public Service Commission said on Wednesday, 1 July. The candidates can will be able to change the exam centres for the UPSC Mains and Prelims Exam.

Candidates Allowed To Change UPSC Civil Service Exam Centre
The change of UPSC Prelims Exam Centre For IAS and IFS will be done in two phases:

The change of UPSC Prelims Exam Centre has been allowed by UPSC as many aspirants would have to travel for the October 4 exam from their home towns which poses a health risk to them. Besides this, the option to change the centers for the civil services (Main) examination, 2020, and the Indian Forest Service (Main) examination, 2020, is also being made available, it said.
The candidates had requested the commission to allow change of the exam centres like NTA had done for NEET and JEE Main Exam 2020. Â

The UPSC Aspirants must note that their requests for change in the Centers will be considered based on the principle of “first-apply-first allot” basis and once the capacity of a particular Centre is attained, the same will be frozen.
The candidates, who cannot get a Centre of their choice due to the ceiling, will be required to choose a Centre from the remaining ones. Therefore, the candidates must apply as early as possible when the online link is activated to get the centre of their choice for the UPSC IAS, IFS Exam 2020.
