CTET Admit Card 2020: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), which was scheduled to be conducted on July 5. The new examination dates for CBSE CTET 2020 will be announced after the situation becomes more conducive for the examination to be held. The decision has been taken by the CBSE in view of the increasing coronavirus cases in the country.

CBSE Exam Date Postponed: Check Notice

Each year, the CBSE conducts the CTET Exam twice in a year (July and December) to shortlist candidates for appointment as teachers in classes I-VIII. The CTET Exam comprises of two papers: Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper I is for the candidates who plan to teach classes I-V and candidates who plan to teach classes VI-VIII need to take Paper-II. Candidates who plan to teach classes I-VIII need to take both the papers. CTET Qualification is essential for the aspirants to secure a teaching job in any Government or private school.

CTET Admit Card

The CTET Hall Ticket is usually released 15 days before the CTET Exam Date. The CTET July Exam was to be held on 5th July 2020. Due to the rising cases of COVID 19 in the country and to ensure the safety of the citizens, the exam date for CTET July is postponed till further notice.

CTET 2020 Exam Pattern

CTET Exam is conducted in two phases – Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is for candidates who aspire to become teacher for Class I to V and Paper II is conducted for candidates who aspire to become a teacher for Class VI to VIII.

Paper I and Paper II have Objective Multiple Choice Questions. CTET Syllabus 2020 is very lengthy. It mainly revolves around Child Development & Pedagogy and concept of education in schools. Language is one section that all candidates need to master to crack CTET 2020. Marking Scheme For CTET Exam 2020

  • All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four alternatives provided. One correct answer is to be chosen.
  • Each correct answer carries one mark and there will be no negative marking in CTET.
  • This marking scheme will be helpful to calculate/predict scores while the CTET Answer Key is available

CTET Registration

Every year, more than 20 lakh candidates appear for the CTET exam. For CTET December 2019, close to 24 lakh candidates appeared for CTET out of which 5.42 lakh qualified, as per media reports. In July 2019, total 23.77 lakh aspirants took the CTET exam out of which 3.52 lakh candidates qualified. Let us have a look at the given image below:

CTET 2020 Qualifying Marks

Candidates appearing for CTET are considered CTET qualified only when they clear the paper 1
OR
Both paper 1 and 2. A minimum score is needed for CTET Qualification.

  • The qualifying score is 60% for General category candidates, while it is relaxed for the reserved category.
  • CTET Qualifying Marks for SC/ ST category is 55%.

The official notification clearly mentions:

“Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled”

Note: Candidates who qualify Paper 1 despite appearing for both paper 1 and paper 2 will also be considered CTET qualified.

Also, as per CTET Rules,

      • School managements (Government, local bodies, government-aided and unaided) may consider giving concessions to person belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently-abled persons, etc., in accordance with their extant reservation policy.
      • Should give weightage to the CTET scores in the recruitment process, however, qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment

Validity Of CTET Marks

The Validity Period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories

How many attempts are there in CTET Exam?

A candidate may appear for a number of times for CTET Exam. There is no limit to the number of attempts. A candidate may keep appearing in the exam to improve their score/ performance.

Documents To Carry For CTET 2020 Exam

  1. Candidates need to carry One Photo Identity Card with having the same Date of Birth as printed on Admit Card.
  2. If the Photo Identity Card does not have the Date of Birth then the candidate must carry an additional certificate, in original, as proof of Date of Birth.
  3. Carry your Educational Qualification Certificate
  4. In case of mismatch in the Date of Birth mentioned in the Admission Certificate and the photo ID/the certificate brought in support of the Date of Birth, the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
  5. Passport size photographs.

Before a candidate applies for the teaching post, they must be aware of the eligibility criteria that we have provided here. The medium of question paper other than the languages shall be in English,
Kannada, Urdu, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi. The recruitment for teachers is being done to teach at Primary Teacher Level-I (Class 1 to 5) & Upper Primary Teacher Level-II (Class 6 to 8) in various schools under Karnataka Government

Highlights Of Karnataka TET 2020

  • The candidates belonging to General /2A/2B/3A/3B should secure a minimum of 60% to be eligible.

Sikkim TET Syllabus

Paper 1 Syllabus:

The questions will be based on the syllabus for classes I to V, but their difficulty level, as well as linkage, will be up to the secondary stage.

Paper 2 Syllabus:

The Questions in the test will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus for the Class VI to VII classes but, their difficulty level, as well as linkage, could be up to the level above as well.
