The UPSC has released the notification for the UPSC combined Medica Services 2020- on 28th July 2020 on its official site which is www.upsc.gov.in. There are a total of 559 vacancies for the candidates who have passed the MBBS Course. The Official Notification PDF 2020 is given below to download.

UPSC CMS 2020: Eligibility Criteria

Check the eligibility from below as mentioned in the official brochure.

(i) Nationality

  1. A citizen of India, or
  2. A subject of Nepal, or
  3. The subject of Bhutan, or
  4. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962
  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note: For a person belonging from category 2 to 5 have to issue a certificate of eligibility from Gov. of India.

(ii) Age Limit

A candidate for this examination must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 1st August, 2020, i.e. the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1988. However, for Junior Time Scale Posts in Central Health Services, the upper age limit must not exceed 35 (thirty-five years) on the aforesaid cut-off date.

Age Relaxation

The upper age limit is relaxed in the following cases. The candidates lying in these categories can avail for age relaxation.

UPSC CMS 2020 Exam Pattern

Admission to UPSC CMS is done by qualifying 2 stage procedures: || Part I and Part II ||. The Exam Pattern for the UPSC CMS for the Junior Scale Posts and other posts is given below.

Part-I COMPUTER BASED EXAMINATION – (500 marks)

  1. The candidates will take the Computer based examination in two Papers, each Paper carrying a maximum of 250 marks. Each Paper will be of two hours duration.
  2. Both the Papers of the CMSE will be of MBBS standard.
  3. One-third of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
  4. The question paper will be set only in English.

Part-II Personality Test: (100 Marks):

Personality test carrying 100 marks of such of the candidates who qualify on the results of the Computer based examination.

Syllabus For UPSC CMS 2020 Exam

The syllabus for the UPSC Paper I and Peper II is explained below.

Syllabus For UPSC CMS Paper-I

Paper I of UPSC CMS will be of 250 Marks. There will be 120 questions. All the questions will be objective in nature. Out of the 120 questions, 96 will be from General Medicine and 24 from Paediatrics.

Armed Forces Medical Services Recruitment 2020: Indian Army has invited online applications from Indian female and male citizens for the Armed Forces Medical Services. Educational Qualification

  • The applicant must possess medical qualification included in First/Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule of IMC Act 1956.
  • The applicant must have permanent registration from any State Medical Council/MCI. Post graduate degree/diploma holders recognized by State Medical Council/MCI/NBE can also apply.

Selection Process For Armed Forces Medical Services Recruitment 2020

  1. The candidates will be selected through an Interview for the Armed Forces Medical Services Recruitment 2020.
  2. Eligible candidates will be called for interview by a Board of Officers in the month of Sep 2020 at Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi Cantt to assess their suitability and merit for grant of Short Service Commission in the Armed Forces Medical Services.

Salary For Armed Forces Medical Services Recruitment

The candidates who will be appointed into the armed forces for Short Service Commission will be entitled to the monthly  salary as well as perks and benefits as mentioned below:

  1. Doctors on commissioning in the Armed Forces Medical Services will be granted the rank of Captain (or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force) in 10B level of Defence Pay Matrix of
    BP Rs. 61300 + MSP Rs. 15500 + HRA (if applicable) as per category of the city, (i.e X, Y, Z, where the officer is posted) + NPA at prevalent rates + Transport Allowance Rs. 3600-7200 as per
    the category of the city, (i.e X, Y, Z where the officer is posted) + Dress Allowance Rs. 20,000
    (Annually) and Dearness Allowance as per prevalent rate (total emolument at minimum of Pay Scale
    at the time of joining will be approximately Rs. 97000/- pm).
  2. In addition, officers are entitled ration or ration allowance in lieu (as per location of Posting & Notification to that effect) subsidized accommodation and allied facilities.
  3. PG degree holders are eligible for PG allowance or specialist pay on being designated as graded specialist as per Training Rules applicable from time to time.
  4. In addition, officers are entitled to 60 days Annual Leave & 20 days Casual Leave in a year, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), free Medical Services for self & family including dependent parents, Group Insurance & Canteen Stores Depot (CSD) facility.
