MPSC Group B Notification: The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has announced the revised schedule of MPSC Subordinate Services 2020 Prelims on its website. The MPSC Subordinate Services 2020 Prelims will be conducted on 22 November 2020 (Revised) and the admit cards for the same to be uploaded on the official website prior 15 days before the commencement of the exam.

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission is recruiting candidates under advertisement notice no 05/2020. A total of 806 vacancies will be filled up through MPSC Subordinate Services 2020 Exam out of which 650 are for Police Sub Inspector, 67 for Assistant Section Officer and 89 for State Tax Inspector.

The MPSC Non-Gazette Group B (Advertisement No-05/2020) will be now be held on  22 November 2020 instead of 11 October 2020.

MPSC Combined Exam Date 2020

The MPSC Subordinate Services 2020 Prelims Exam was scheduled to be held on 11 October 2020 which now has been postponed due to COVID-19. This is the fourth time that the Maharashtra Public Service Commission has postponed MPSC Subordinate Services 2020 Prelims due to COVID-19.

Before this as well, the MPSC Subordinate Prelims Exam 2020 was supposed to be held on 03 May 2020 which had been postponed to 10 May 2020. MPSC Syllabus 2020: The Maharashtra State Government conducts various exams every year to recruit suitable candidates into the different wings of the state administration. The MPSC or Maharashtra Public Service Commission is one of the major exams conducted by the Maharashtra State Govt. The MPSC Exam is also known as the MPSC Rajyaseva Exam. It is responsible for conducting other examinations such as Subordinate Services, Class C Services, Engineering Services, Agriculture Services, Judicial Services, etc.

Every year candidates in large nos. apply for the MPSC Exam. In order to be eligible to work in MPSC, it is important to get acquainted with the syllabus and the exam pattern. MPSC Syllabus: MPSC Exam Pattern

Before we get into the MPSC Syllabus, let us first have a look at the MPSC Exam Pattern. The Exam Pattern forms a major part of the recruitment process. It lets the govt. job aspirants to know the pattern of the exam and marks allotted to each of the exam papers.

The MPSC state services exam is conducted in three stages:

  1. Prelims
  2. Mains
  3. Interview

A candidate has to clear one stage in order to be eligible for the subsequent stage, i.e, if he/she clears the prelims, he/she moves onto the mains, clearing which he/she would be summoned for the final stage (interview) of the MPSC exam. The MPSC Exam Pattern and Syllabus for each of the stages are explained below.

MPSC Syllabus: MPSC Prelims Exam Pattern

This is the first stage of the MPSC State Services Exam. Through this stage of the MPSC Exam, candidates are filtered to appear for the next stage of examination.

Points To Note For MPSC Prelims Exam Pattern

  1. Marks of both papers will be considered for qualifying candidates for the mains exam.
  2. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd for every incorrect answer in Paper I and Paper II.
  3. The questions on decision making in Paper II has no negative marks if incorrectly answered.
  4. Candidates need to score minimum marks as decided by the commission to qualify for the mains exam.
  5. All the questions are set in English and Marathi except for those questions which are meant to test the candidate’s knowledge of English.

  7. Marathi and English language comprehension skills (Class X/XII level) Questions relating to this will be tested through passages from Marathi and English language without providing cross translation thereof in the question paper.

The MPSC Mains Exam comprises of six compulsory papers. Paper I and Paper II are language papers. Paper III to Paper VI are General Studies Papers. MPSC Exam does not comprise of any optional paper through a change made in 2012.
