RBI Grade B 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should be able to fulfill the mentioned requirements to be able to apply online for RBI Grade B Exam

1. Nationality

Candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who is permanently settled in India prior to January 1, 1962, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from either Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of residing permanently in India.

2. Age Limit

Minimum age limit- 21 years
Maximum age limit- 30 years

3. Educational Qualifications

(a) Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General): Minimum 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations.
Minimum qualifying percentage or an equivalent grade for the Bachelor’s degree will be in aggregate for all semesters/years
(b) Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR: A Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute;
OR
PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute;
OR
Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute.
(c) Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM :
Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade (aggregate of all semesters / years)
OR
Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a reputed Institute
OR
M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks (aggregate of all semesters/years)
OR
Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.

RBI Grade B 2020: Steps To Apply

It is advised that the candidates keep a valid and active email id and contact no. throughout the SBI PO Recruitment Process to receive all the updates related to it. The Steps to apply online for the SBI PO will comprise of two stages: || Registration | Login || The steps to apply online is given below.

  1. Click on the link given above once it is active or goes to the official website rbi.org.in.
  2. Separate links for Online applications for Gr B (DR) General and Online applications for DEPR/ DSIM would be displayed.
  3. For fresh registration, choose the tab “Click here for New Registration” and enter Important details asked.
  4. A Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system.
  5. An Email & SMS is sent to the registered email ID and a Mobile number containing the Registration number and Password.
  6. Log in with the Registration number and Password and fill all the important details asked there.
  7. Upload scanned copy of recent photograph and signature, left-hand thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration.

RBI Grade B 2020 Salary

The candidates selected to the post of Officers through the RBI Grade B 2020 Exam will be given the salary of 12-14 Lac annually. The Exact Pay Scale for the RBI Grade B Officer is Rs. 35150-1750(9)-50900-EB-1750(2)-54400-2000(4)-62400. Candidates will have a Basic Pay of Rs. 35,150/- in which he/she will get an increment of Rs. 1,750/- till nine years of their service.

After the completion of these nine years, the officers will get into the executive band wherein the basic pay will increase to Rs. 50,900/- and then again for the next two years there will be an increment of Rs. 1,750/- and further an increment of Rs. 2000/- for the following 2 years. Thus a candidate will be ending up with the basic pay of Rs. 62,400/- and this is when he/she doesn’t even go through any promotion.

Apart from the Basic Pay, multiple allowances such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, etc. are also provided to candidates post their joining to the post of Officer in RBI.

RBI Grade B Exam 2020 Exam Pattern

RBI Grade B 2020 Exam will be conducted in three phases:

  • Phase-I or Prelims;
  • Phase-II or Mains
  • Interview

Candidates are required to clear all the three phases in order to get a confirmed post as a Grade B Officer in Reserve Bank of India. The Final merit list will be based on candidates’ performance in the main exam and interview round.

  • The RBI Grade B Prelims exam will be of 200 marks with a total time duration of 120 minutes.
  • There will be a specific sectional duration which will be mentioned in the admission letter.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern For Mains Exam

The candidates who will qualify the Prelims will be eligible to appear for the mains exam or Phase 2.

  • There are three separate papers in the main exam.
  • Each paper will be of 100 marks.
  • The English paper is a descriptive test.

RBI Grade B Officer Interview

Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III of the Phase II exam. The interview Process will carry 50 marks.

RBI Grade B 2020 Syllabus

As you know that there will be three phases for the selection of RBI Grade B Officers. The first two being the written tests and the third being the Interview.

The RBI Grade B phase-1 exam is an objective type examination conducted online. It will have 4 sections:

RBI Grade B 2020 Admit Card

The admit card for RBI Grade B 2020 Exam will be released after the 15 days before the exam. Candidates will be able to download RBI Grade B Prelims Admit Card once it is released by the RBI. The admit card for RBI Grade B Exam will be issued to candidates separately for Prelims & Mains. Candidates who successfully submit their RBI Grade B Online Application Form will be issued a Prelims Call Letter and the Mains Admit Card will be issued to candidates who will qualify the prelims round of the RBI Grade B 2020 Exam.

RBI Grade B Result for the Prelims Exam will be released by the Reserve Bank of India soon after the Prelims Exam has been conducted. The marks secured by the candidates in the RBI Grade B Exam in Prelims, Main Exam, and Interview will be available on the Bank’s website only after the declaration of the final result.  The merit list is prepared in the descending order of the marks obtained by candidates after the interview process is complete.

RBI Grade B Cut off For Phase II

The candidates who are shortlisted in the RBI Grade B Phase I are to appear for the RBI Grade B Phase II Exam. The Phase II exam is conducted for candidates who are meet the cut off of RBI Grade B Phase I. This phase consists of three papers of 300 marks. RBI Grade B cut off for Phase II is the aggregate marks secured in Paper I, II, and III which is calculated out of 300 marks.
