How to Check the RBI Assistant Prelims Result 2026?
Checking the result is very simple. Just follow these steps:
- Go to the official RBI website at opportunities.rbi.org.in
- Look for the link that says “Result of Online Preliminary Examination for Recruitment for the Post of Assistant – Panel Year 2025”.
- A PDF file will open.
- Press Ctrl + F (or use the search option on your phone) and type your Roll Number
- If your roll number is in the PDF, you have cleared the Prelims and are shortlisted for Mains
- Download and save the PDF for future reference

RBI Assistant Prelims Marks 2026
The RBI Assistant Exam marks will be released online on the official website of the RBI after the declaration of the prelims result. Candidates who appeared in the examination will be able to check their section-wise marks, overall score, and qualifying status using their registration credentials.
Along with the marks, RBI will also release the category-wise and state-wise cut-off marks for the Preliminary Examination. Both score card and cut off is expected to be released around 10 to 15 days after the declaration of the prelims result.
RBI Assistant Selection Process 2026
The selection has the following stages:
- Prelims: Qualifying stage. Marks are NOT counted in the final merit.
- Mains: This is the main exam. Your Mains marks decide your final rank and selection.
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Qualifying. You must know the local/regional language of the state you applied for.

Final Selection: Final merit is prepared based on Main Examination performance and qualifying the Language Proficiency Test.
RBI Assistant Mains Exam Pattern 2026
Candidates who qualify the Prelims exam will be shortlisted for the second stage of the recruitment process, i.e., the Mains exam. Similar to the Prelims, the Mains is also an online objective-type (MCQ-based) test with a total duration of 2 hours 15 minutes. The exam consists of 200 questions and is divided into five different sections, as shown in the table below.

RBI Assistant Local Language Test 2026
Upon qualifying Prelims and Mains, RBI will test the local language knowledge of the candidates. Since there is no interview, candidates who have not studies local language in 10th/12th standards, will be called for Local Language Proficiency Test. They must speak, write, and understand the language of the region they applied for.

What happens after the RBI Assistant Prelims Result?
The following events will proceed after the release of the Prelims Result:
- RBI will release the Mains Admit Card for qualified candidates before the Mains exam.
- Candidates will appear for the RBI Assistant Mains Exam of 200 marks with a duration of 135 minutes.
- Candidates qualifying the Mains exam will be called for the Language Proficiency Test (LPT).
- The final merit list will be prepared based only on the marks scored in the Mains examination.
