1. Bilateral Summit between India and Sri Lanka
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and his Srilankan counterpart Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa will hold a Virtual Bilateral Summit on 26 September 2020.
The Bilateral Summit will provide an opportunity to the countries for comprehensively reviewing the broad framework of the bilateral relationship soon after the Parliamentary elections in Sri Lanka.

2. MoU between AYUSH Ministry and Industry Bodies
The National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Ministry of AYUSH inked an MoU through virtual meeting with the major AYUSH and Herbal industry bodies covering a set of measures to promote medicinal plant cultivation.
The industry bodies which signed the MoU are namely; ADMA (Ayurvedic Drug Manufacturer’s Association), Mumbai; AMAM (Association for Manufacturers of Ayurvedic Medicines), New Delhi; AMMOI (Ayurvedic Medicines Manufacturers Organisation of India), Thrissur; AHNMI (Association for Herbal and Nutraceutical Manufacturers of India), Mumbai; FICCI (Federation of Indian Industries), New Delhi and CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), New Delhi.

3. Centralised Farm Machinery Performance Testing Portal
The Government of India has launched the “Centralised Farm Machinery Performance Testing Portal” in the public domain, which has been developed by the Department of Agriculture. It is a step to improve services of farm machinery testing institutions and bringing out transparency in the entire process of testing and evaluation of machines.
This portal will provide a platform for manufacturers, in applying, communicating and monitoring the progress of testing of their machines in a seamless manner as it is easily accessible from any location and from any device connected to the Internet.
It also offers the possibility of integrated management in a unified manner within the organisation and thus will help in improving the efficiency of the testing institutes thereby reducing testing time for various agricultural machines and equipment.

4. RAISE 2020 – Mega Virtual Summit on Artificial Intelligence
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and NITI Aayog will organise a Mega Virtual Summit on Artificial Intelligence (AI), RAISE 2020- ‘Responsible AI for Social Empowerment 2020,’ from October 5-9, 2020.
Its main aim to exchange ideas and chart a course for using AI for social transformation, inclusion and empowerment in areas like Healthcare, Agriculture, Education and Smart Mobility, among other sectors.
RAISE 2020 is a first of its kind, a global meeting of minds on Artificial Intelligence to drive India’s vision and roadmap for social transformation, inclusion and empowerment through responsible AI.

5. National Service Scheme (NSS) Awards
The President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind virtually conferred the National Service Scheme (NSS) Awards for the year 2018-19.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Award for the year 2018-19 was awarded to 42 awardees in 3 different categories which include; University/ +2 Council, NSS Units and their Programme Officers, and NSS Volunteers.
The National Service Scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme. It was launched in the year 1969 with the objective of developing the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service.
The whole idea behind the NSS is inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. Very appropriately, the motto of NSS is “NOT ME, BUT YOU” in Hindi it is as ‘स्वयंसेपहलेआप’’
