CTET Admit Card 2021: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) admit card on January 13, 2021 @ctet.nic.in. The new examination date for CBSE CTET 2021 is January 31, 2021. Each year, the CBSE conducts the CTET Exam twice a year (July and December) to shortlist candidates for appointment as teachers in classes I-VIII. The CTET Exam comprises of two papers: Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is for the candidates who plan to teach classes I-V and candidates who plan to teach classes VI-VII need to take Paper-II. Candidates who plan to teach classes I-VIII need to take both the papers. CTET Qualification is essential for the aspirants to secure a teaching job in any Government or private school.

CTET 2021 Exam Pattern

CTET Exam is conducted in two phases – Paper I and Paper-II. Paper-I is for candidates who aspire to become a teacher for Class I to V and Paper II is conducted for candidates who aspire to become a teacher for Class VI to VIII.

Paper I and Paper II have Objective Multiple Choice Questions. CTET Syllabus 2021 is very lengthy. It mainly revolves around Child Development & Pedagogy and the concept of education in schools. Marking Scheme For CTET Exam 2021

  • All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four alternatives provided. One correct answer is to be chosen.
  • Each correct answer carries one mark and there will be no negative marking in CTET.
  • This marking scheme will be helpful to calculate/predict scores while the CTET Answer Key is available

CTET Registration

Every year, more than 20 lakh candidates appear for the CTET exam. For CTET December 2019, close to 24 lakh candidates appeared out of which 5.42 lakh qualified, as per media reports. In July 2019, a total of 23.77 lakh aspirants took the CTET exam out of which 3.52 lakh candidates qualified. Let us have a look at the given image below:

CTET 2021 Qualifying Marks

Candidates appearing for CTET are considered CTET qualified only when they clear paper 1
Both papers 1 and 2. A minimum score is needed for CTET Qualification.

  • The qualifying score is 60% for General category candidates, while it is relaxed for the reserved category.
  • CTET Qualifying Marks for SC/ ST category is 55%.

The official notification clearly mentions:

“Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled”

Note: Candidates who qualify for Paper-1 despite appearing for both paper 1 and paper 2 will also be considered CTET qualified.

Also, as per CTET Rules,

  • School managements (Government, local bodies, government-aided and unaided) may consider giving concessions to persons belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently-abled persons, etc., following their extant reservation policy.
  • Should give weightage to the CTET scores in the recruitment process, however, qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment

Validity Of CTET Marks

The Validity Period of the CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories

How many attempts are there in CTET Exam?

A candidate may appear some times for the CTET Exam. There is no limit to the number of attempts. A candidate may keep appearing in the exam to improve their score/ performance.

Documents To Carry For CTET 2021 Exam

  1. Candidates need to carry One Photo Identity Card with having the same Date of Birth as printed on CTET Admit Card 2021
  2. If the Photo Identity Card does not have the Date of Birth then the candidate must carry an additional certificate, in original, as proof of Date of Birth.
  3. Carry your Educational Qualification Certificate
  4. In case of a mismatch in the Date of Birth mentioned in the Admission Certificate and the photo ID/the certificate brought in support of the Date of Birth, the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
  5. Passport size photographs.
