NEET, JEE 2020 Postponement Plea Dismissed by SC: In an important decision announced on Monday 17th August 2020, the Supreme Court rejected a plea that sought postponement of the JEE Mains 2020 and NEET 2020 exam. The plea was being heard by a three-judge bench comprising Justice Arun Mishra, Justice Krishna Murari and Justice BR Gavai. The bench stated that life has to go on and the life of the students can not be put in danger by interfering with the decision of the National Testing Agency.
The bench stated that “Career of students cannot be put in peril. We find no merit in the petition. The petition is dismissed. You (lawyers) have demanded the opening of physical courts. But you want exams to be postponed. Postponement of exams is a loss for the country.”
