JEE Main, NEET 2020 Exam Updates: The Coronavirus pandemic is not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon and this has resulted in the derailing of the slowly normalizing situation in the education sector in the country. Recently CBSE announced the cancellation of the pending board exams for class 10th and 12th students in wake of the pandemic situation and protest by parents and students alike. This has prompted the HRD Minister, Mr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to issue a statement and convene a meeting of the panel which comprises the DG of the NTA and other experts from the education sector. He asked the experts to review the present situation in the country and offer their suggestions regarding conducting the NEET UG 2020 and JEE Mains 2020 exams in the coming days. JEE Main, & NEET 2020 Exams: Uncertainty Amongst Students

After the CBSE Board exams were cancelled in the last month, there has been a lot of uncertainty amongst the candidates preparing for JEE Main 2020 & NEET Exam 2020. Earlier also, the dates for both the entrance exams have been postponed several times. The new dates for JEE Mains were announced as beginning from 18th July 2020 and ending on 23rd July 2020. The new dates for NEET Exam 2020 was announced as 26th July 2020. Both these exams were to be conducted across several examination centres across the country with all safety precautions in place. Now that the exam dates are approaching, students are facing a lot of uncertainties regarding their future. On one side the pandemic threat is far from over and on the other hand, exam dates are approaching. There is no clarity if the exams will be postponed or will be conducted on time.

JEE Main, NEET 2020: Present Circumstances Forced the Review

The HRD Minister further elaborated that the review meeting has been called due to several requests received from the students as well as their parents who expressed apprehensions regarding conducting the JEE Mains 2020 & NEET Exam 2020. The minister has asked the panel to submit the recommendations latest by Friday, following which a decision will be taken.

In this matter, the HRD minister tweeted that, “Looking at the prevailing circumstances & requests received from students & parents appearing for #JEE & #NEET examinations, a committee consisting of @DG_NTA & other experts has been advised to review the situation & submit its recommendations to @HRDMinistry latest by tomorrow.”

Students must regularly check the official website of NTA as well as the HRD Ministry for accurate and latest information on the topic. Any rumours or speculations doing rounds on social media must be ignored.
