JEE Main 2020 Exam Analysis

JEE Main Examination started from 2 September to 6 September 2020. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, NTA released the examination datasheet. Students across the world have been waiting for the examination as students prepare for this examination for many years. Students start preparing for JEE Main from an early age. Parents and students of our country anticipatedly wait for this examination so that they can get a chance to attempt this and also to get a chance to take admission in the prestigious universities like IITs, NITs etc.

JEE Main took place in such a difficult time in this pandemic. All students who registered for JEE Main 2020 did not attempt the examination due to transportation problems, lockdown, curfew, flood conditions. There was a mixed reaction from students all over the country regarding the decision and conducting of the examination.

JEE Main Exam Analysis 2020: SHIFT-2

SUBJECT DIFFICULTY LEVEL
PHYSICS Moderate & Lengthy
CHEMISTRY Easy
MATHS Easy & Lengthy

Overall Difficulty Level for JEE Main Paper for Both 1st and 2nd Shifts

  • Chemistry was easy and included theoretical questions mostly.
  • Maths section was easy but lengthy.
  • Physics was of moderately difficult level and lengthy too.
  • Chemistry questions were very basic.
  • Question analysis based on 11th and 12th standards was fairly equal.
  • Physics (20 theoretical + 5 numerical questions), questions were difficult.
  • Chemistry (20 theoretical + 5 numerical questions), questions were easy.
  • Maths (20 theoretical + 5 numerical questions), lengthy and moderate level questions.
  • Most questions were directly from NCERT.
  • Overall difficulty level was easy to moderate level.

Along with the difficulty level, some students complain about the arrangement of the examination centres. Some students also complained about the laptops not working properly and leading to time waste. Some were satisfied with the arrangements of the examination center.

5th September 2020 was the fourth day of JEE Main examination.

Overall difficulty level for JEE Main Paper for both 1st and 2nd Shifts:-

  • The chemistry was easy and included theoretical questions mostly.
  • Maths section was moderate to difficult with tricky questions.
  • Physics was of moderately difficult level.
  • Chemistry questions were very basic and had equal weightage of inorganic and organic chemistry.
  • Question analysis based on 11th and 12th standards was fairly equal.
  • Physics (20 theoretical + 5 numerical questions), questions were difficult.
  • Chemistry (20 theoretical + 5 numerical questions), questions were easy.
  • Maths (20 theoretical + 5 numerical questions), tough and tricky questions.
  • Overall difficulty level was easy to moderate difficulty level.

According to students, all SOPs were followed and social distancing rules were followed carefully. Attendance of students has increased from past days and has been better.

6th september, 2020 was the fifth and last day of JEE Main examination.

Overall Difficulty Level for JEE Main Paper for Both 1st and 2nd Shifts:

  • Chemistry was easy and included theoretical questions mostly.
  • Maths section was the toughest section with lengthy calculations.
  • Physics was of moderately difficult level with more questions in Optics, Wavs, Modern Physics.
  • Chemistry questions were very basic and had equal weightage of inorganic and organic chemistry and most questions were from NCERT.
  • Question analysis based on 11th and 12th standards was fairly equal.
  • Physics (20 theoretical + 5 numerical questions), questions were difficult.
  • Chemistry (20 theoretical + 5 numerical questions), questions were easy.
  • Maths (20 theoretical + 5 numerical questions), tough and lengthy questions.
  • Overall difficulty level was easy to moderate difficulty level.

While many students were relieved after the completion of the JEE Main examination, some were disappointed in not getting the chance to attempt the paper in flooded or more affected areas. Some students were not able to attend the examination like in Bihar and Assam.

Some students were not happy with the management of examinations at a few examination centers and some were happy about theirs. So overall there is a mixed reaction from the students about the examination.
