JEE Main Exam Analysis 2020: After the long wait, finally, JEE Main 2020 examination is being held. Due to Covid-19, every examination in the country and all over the world got delayed and there was no assurance of when the examination going to hold because of increasing cases in thousands every day.

There is a mixed reaction from students for JEE Main examination dates. Some students were happy as they were getting a chance to give the paper after the hard preparation for 2 and more years. Some students did not agree with this and wanted to postpone the examination because of difficulty in transportation and fear of pandemic.

National Testing Agency (NTA) is in the authority of organising JEE Main 2020. NTA will hold the JEE Main examination form 1st September 2020 to 6th September 2020. The JEE Main examination will be held in two shifts Morning Shift from 9 am to 12 pm and Evening Shift 3 pm to 6 pm. The examination will be a computer-based test.

This year a total of 746115 students applied for JEE Main Btech 2020.

JEE Main Exam Analysis: 1st September 2020

Students faced a problem in reaching the examination centres. In states where flood conditions prevail, there were more transportation problems. Around 40% of students of JEE Main registered students did not appear on the first day. States like Ludhiana, Assam, Odisha approx 50% of registered students did not appear in the examination. Some students did not appear due to the pandemic fear. In West Bengal, Around 70% of students did not appear in the examination.

On overall level students reactions to the difficulty level of paper are as follows:-

  • For B. planning and B. Arch Maths section was the toughest with tricky questions from integration, differentiation, etc.
  • Drawing section was the easiest.
  • General Aptitude section was quite easy.
  • Planning question paper was moderately difficult.

On the second day of JEE Main examination, around 79.3% of registered students attempted the examination. There was a mixed reaction from the students for the difficulty level and also for the social distancing and precautionary measures regulation.

  • Centres were sanitized and students felt safe in them
  • Social distancing was maintained
  • Some students found difficulty in reaching the centres
  • SOPs were well maintained.

Overall JEE Main Exam Difficulty Level for Both Shifts-1 & 2

  • Physics section in Shift 1 was pretty difficult with more numerical questions than other sections.
  • Maths section was lengthy and moderately difficult.
  • Chemistry questions were all NCERT based.
  • Chemistry section was easiest with more theoretical questions among the three sections.
  • The overall examination was of moderately difficult level.
  • The weightage of class 11 and 12 was roughly equal.

On September 3, 2020 around 1.5 lakhs students appeared for the examination. Below mentioned is the student reaction to the difficulty level of JEE Main examination.

  • Physics was considered as the toughest section among all.
  • Mathematics was moderately difficult.
  • The chemistry was easy among all sections.
  • More theoretical and NCERT based questions were seen in Chemistry.
  • Maths section was lengthy
  • More numerical based questions were in Physics section
  • Overall difficulty level for examination was moderately difficult.

Along with the difficulty level, many students complained about the non-fulfilment of social distancing rules in the centre. Some students were happy with the precautionary measures at their centres but some were very disappointed.
