JEE Advanced 2020 Cancelled: There is an extremely important piece of news for all the candidates who were preparing to appear for the JEE Advanced 2020 in the approved foreign centres. As per the latest notification published by IIT Delhi, the conducting institute for JEE Advanced 2020, due to the logistical challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic, the JEE Advanced 2020 will only be conducted in India this year i.e. JEE Advanced 2020 has been cancelled for foreign centres.
The official notification in this regard reads, “Due to the current restrictions imposed on foreign travel and visa issuance, it is decided not to conduct JEE Advanced 2020 in foreign centres.” Students must, therefore, immediately change their examination city option on the official website for JEE Advanced 2020 and make their travel arrangements accordingly to avoid any inconveniences later on.
JEE Advanced 2020: Students staying abroad must choose the exam centre in India
The official notification regarding JEE Advanced 2020 also adds that, “All eligible candidates staying abroad may select their preferred choices from the list of exam cities in India for taking JEE Advanced 2020.” This implies that all the students who are residing in a foreign country, must apply to appear for JEE Advanced 2020 at any of the examination cities in India. The dates for JEE Advanced 2020 have been recently announced by IIT Delhi as 27th September 2020. As of now there has been no change in the examination dates for JEE Advanced 2020 but many student groups and parents associations are demanding postponement of engineering and medical entrance exams in wake of the increasing number of Coronavirus cases.
JEE Advanced 2020: Eligibility Criteria Relaxed
Recently, the union education minister had informed the students regarding the relaxations in the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2020, when it comes to marks scored in class 12th board exams. The notification that was released officially read that, “Due to the partial cancellation of Class 12 exams by several boards and the non-uniformity associated with the marks given, it is decided to relax the eligibility criteria for admission to IITs for JEE Advanced 2020 qualified candidates to obtain a PASS in Class 12 examination irrespective of the marks obtained.”
