CLAT Exam Date 2020 (Sept. 28th): The Consortium of National Law Universities has announced the exam date of CLAT 2020. The eligibility test of CLAT 2020 is scheduled for September 28th between 2 pm and 4 pm. The decision was taken at a meeting of the General Body of the Consortium that was held on August 10. CLAT is a Common Law Admission Test which is held every year for admission of students in law programmes. Current notice regarding CLAT examination is updated on 29 August 2020 for the postponement of examination.
CLAT 2020 Exam Date: Reschudeled
After the meeting of Executive Committee of the Consortium of National Law Universities on
27th August 2020, it was decided to postpone the CLAT examination. This decision was based on the lockdown condition in various states like Bihar and West Bengal until 7th September 2020. Earlier it was decided to organise the CLAT 2020 examination on 7th September 2020. Considering the prevailing situation of Covid-19 and its safety measures, now it is decided to hold the CLAT examination for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes on 28th September 2020 (Monday). Test duration is of 2 hours and timings mentioned in the notice is from 2 pm to 4 pm. The examination will be held in an online mode as decided by the Executive Committee due to the coronavirus and all the social distancing precautions will be followed accordingly.
The Coronavirus pandemic has thrown the schedule for entrance exams into disarray. Multiple cancellations, postponements, and rescheduling have resulted in huge confusion amongst the candidates. The same has been the case with the law school aspirants who have been eagerly waiting for the Common Law Admission Test 2020. The test has already been rescheduled multiple times. But now it seems that there is a consensus amongst the member institutions of the Consortium of the National Law Universities for conducting the CLAT 2020.
CLAT Exam Date 2020: To be held on 28th Sept 2020
The CLAT Exam Date 2020 has already been delayed several times. Initially, the exam was scheduled for 10th May 2020, then it was postponed to 24th May 2020 and subsequently to 21st June 2020. But as the situation has still not normalized in the country, the consortium took the decision to further delay the CLAT 2020.
As per the latest information shared by the Consortium, the CLAT 2020 Exam Date will be conducted on 28th Sept. 2020. The rescheduling has been done in the wake of the threat posed by the Coronavirus pandemic. As the dates for the CLAT 2020 have now been officially announced, candidates will do well to start their preparations for the exam accordingly. Moreover, it is advisable to regularly check the official website @www.consortiumofnlus.ac.in for regular updates regarding the exam. The declaration of examination venues and other details will be made in due course by the consortium.
Admit Cards to be Released in Two Weeks
The consortium will release the CLAT 2020 Admit Card on the official website in 2 weeks. The admit card will contain information just like the roll number and name and address of the exam centre.
Note: That no candidate is going to be allowed to enter the CLAT 2020 Exam Centre without a mask. Also, precautionary measures are going to be taken to take care of proper social distancing.
CLAT Exam Date 2020: Important Details for Candidates
While announcing the dates for CLAT 2020, CNLU also issued important updates regarding the CLAT 2020. Candidates must make a note of this information as it will come extremely handy during their preparation.
The last date for the online registration for CLAT 2020 has now been extended up to 10th July 2020. Any candidates who were earlier unable to complete their registration for any reason, must do so now without any delays, as further extensions seem unlikely for now.
The registrations can be completed using the online mode only. Candidates must visit the official website of CLAT 2020 @ www.consortiumofnlus.ac.in and follow the on-screen prompts to complete their registration.
The CLAT 2020 exam will be conducted across multiple venues in the country wherein strict norms regarding social distancing and sanitizing will be in force. Candidates will be required to wear face masks and extensively use hand sanitizers.
The timing for the examination has also been declared. It will be a 2-hour examination which will be conducted on 28th Sept. 2020 from 02:00 PM till 04:00 PM.
This year the structure of the examination has also been changed. The total number of questions has been reduced from 200 to 150. The questions will be asked extensively from English, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Logical reasoning, etc.
