Sol. The breather transports fresh air in and out of the transformer. Breather mainly consists of a silica gel. The silica gel absorbs the moisture content of air so that oil contamination can be prevented.
NOTE:
breather is provided on the top of the conservator.
The silica gel which is blue in colour turns pink when it absorbs moisture fully.
