There is an important piece of news for the candidates who have been waiting for the announcement of the Round 1 seat allotment offer for GATE COAP 2020. Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) which is the coordinating institute for the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) has announced the results for the Round 1 seat allotment. So, all the students who have registered previously, can log-on to the official portal for GATE COAP 2020 @ coap.iitm.ac.in and check the status of the seat.
Candidates who are satisfied with the result of the GATE COAP 2020 Round 1 seat allotment, can confirm their decision regarding acceptance latest by 11th June 2020. Thus, the candidates must log-on to the official website and confirm their seat allocation by 11th June 2020.For information regarding the upcoming counselling round and the four additional online rounds, candidates must refer to the official website of GATE COAP 2020.
GATE COAP 2020: Importance of the COAP
GATE COAP 2020 is the official platform for all the candidates who have appeared for the GATE 2020 and have been declared as qualified to register their preference regarding the choice of institute for admission in an MTech program in the participating institutes or for accepting a job offer from a PSU. Last year, twenty-one institutes participated in the COAP for selecting candidates for admission into the MTech courses as well as for recruitment in participating PSUs.
GATE COAP 2020: Confirmation dates
In addition to the present round ending on 11th June 2020, four additional counselling rounds will be conducted. It is important for the candidates to register on the GATE 2020 portal as well as register with the institute in which the admission is being sought.

GATE COAP 2020: Process to be followed by candidates
Whenever the candidates accept the seat offer in any of the rounds, they need to get in touch with the respective institute, verify their documents, and pay the requisite fees. All these steps must be completed within the specified deadline. If the students do not wish to accept an offer in one round, then they can wait for the further rounds of seat allocation.
All the participating institutes select the candidates based on their individual selection criteria and subsequently they release the result on the COAP portal.
