Kolkata International Book Fair 2023: The 46th International Kolkata Book Fair will start on January 31 and continue till February 12. This year’s focal theme country is Spain As Spain is the theme for 2023, Spain Day will be celebrated on January 31 while Children’s Day will be celebrated on February 5. The guests at the inauguration will be Mara Jose Gálvez Salvador of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Spain and Ambassador of Spain to India, Jose Maria Ridao Domínguez, and other dignitaries. It is said to be second only to the Frankfurt Book Fair in terms of expansion and football.

History Of Kolkata Book Fair: 1976 সালে কলকাতা পাবলিশার্স অ্যান্ড বুকসেলার গিল্ডের উদ্যোগে ছোট পরিসরে বইমেলা শুরু হয়। বইয়ের ক্রমবর্ধমান জনসাধারণের চাহিদা এবং বইয়ের দোকানের আপেক্ষিক অভাব মেটাতে বইমেলা শুরু হয়েছিল।
